Wow... Indians pitching picks up right where they left off... 6-0 winners, up 1 game to nothing.

Kluber was damn masterful and the hitters shown Lester is not Superman and beatable.

  5. Kluber was fantastic. Congrats to the Indians. Now for the Cubs to show their toughness and be better tonight.

    Schwarber amazed me.

bc he played DH, is he 100%? He doesn't have to run much bs around the bases if he gets on and that's risky. If he hits a HR, he can trot around. To race against the health clock on a ACL is risky and dangerous. I guess he knows what he's doing.

I didn't expect to see him till next Spring Training. A+ for coming back this early.

  8. He is not cleared to play the field, but he was medically cleared to hit. He did slide in Arizona and said it was fine. Is there a risk? Sure, but im guessing it is minimal for everyone to clear him. He wanted to go for it, the doctor said go for it, and the management said if you feel up to it, we will let you try. That was all he asked for - an opportunity to try. Up until 9 days ago, no one expected to see him until Spring Training.

Arrieta deals, Cubs awaken, top Indians to even Series at 1

CLEVELAND (AP) ? Jake Arrieta made a teasing try at history, Kyle Schwarber drove in two runs and the Chicago Cubs brushed off a shutout to even the World Series with their first Fall Classic win in 71 years, 5-1 over the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

Arrieta carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning, briefly invoking Don Larsen's name, before the Indians touched him for two hits and a run. However, the right-hander helped give Chicago just what it needed ? a split at Progressive Field ? before the Cubbies return to their Wrigley Field den for the next three games starting Friday night.

The Cubs hadn't won in the Series since beating Detroit 8-7 in 1945 to force Game 7.

did he really have to yell out "suck my dick?"

    really dude? classy!

Reports of alcohol on breathe of all 3 victims in the Jose Fernandez tragedy came yesterday. No idea why this is being released now as it seemed shady that they died without being intoxicated or under the influence before. Very sad.

  16. Probably not thinking and caught up in the moment. Plus he yelled it to Rizzo/Cubs dugoit. Not like he yelled it to other team.

You have major knee surgery and miss the entire year to come back and drive in an RBI in the World Series at 23 and see how classy you act.

really? that's your defense? i think it's time we stop defending their ages as a right to act like an idiot. yelling "suck my dick" is pretty immature and not something i expect from a pro athlete. a HS athlete yes, but not a pro athlete.

Win a World Series in Chicago. It?s what all the Cubs are here to do and why they?re all embracing this as fully as they did a regular season in which their camaraderie shone through. Perhaps nothing in the postseason illustrated it better than Schwarber?s reaction after his first RBI, when he stared into the dugout while running to first base, turned the corner, then wheeled around and screamed a most unpleasant ? and unprintable ? request of a teammate that involved an anatomically sensitive area.

?It was me,? catcher David Ross said. ?And I loved every second of it.?

Ross, you see, is not just the lovable grandfather figure in the Cubs? clubhouse, a 39-year-old hoping to ride into retirement with a ring. He is also a habitual line-stepper. After Game 1, he rode Schwarber hard. ?One hit? That?s all?? he said. ?Do something to help the team. Drive in a run or something.?

Schwarber did. And he made sure Ross and the entire Cubs? dugout knew about it.

?I almost passed out laughing,? Ross said. ?I love that guy. He is so tough mentally. He?s stayed with the team and been in every at-bat with us. That?s why he?s having success. He?s a natural-born hitter. But he has stayed engaged.?

  20. Oh good lord. Why don't you just say get off my lawn? I get it, you hated the bat flip by Bautista last year, you dislike any personality. Saying suck my dick to a teammate, to me, is funny. This isn't beating woman and children. This isn't raping women behind a dumpster. This isn't driving drunk. This isn't waving gun around. This isn't a gang banging an unwilling woman and claiming she is claiming rape because you refused to pay for condoms. This is crude sense of humor. I understand if you don't have one.
