u dog - we've had some battles in the past, but damn man that was some fine writing on heyward. well done. A++ just think him and posey were in the same draft. wow. who got the better player?

Bless you, sir. Who doesn't love a good battle? As long as everything's above the belt, I never bear anyone any ill will over any scraps we may have...I actually miss some of the guys I used to scrap with on the board I used to post regularly at. Heyward was drafted the year before Posey, actually. Heyward's draft was pretty stacked as it turned out...Price, Bumgarner, Donaldson, Stanton, Arrieta, J. Zimmermann, Lucroy, Harvey, Kluber, Rizzo, Porcello, Moustakas, Wieters, Frazier, Freeman, plus solid guys like Lucas Duda, Matt Moore, Zach Cozart, and Brandon Belt
holy crap is that a draft class. for some reason i thought they - posey and heyward were in the same one. i thought maybe they're link by the same high school or neighboring area. im wrong on both. curses!
People I know who are Cubs fans were complaining last night on FB about the FS1 coverage and camera angles of the game. I didn't think it was that bad. I mean besides Mr. Ed Joe Buck, it was ok. Did you guys see any bad camera angles or closeups? I dunno?
Everything I heard is that the Cards offered more money, but the Cubs offered an opt out after 4 years. He hit like .300 for the Cards in 2015. He'll bounce back next year offensively. He let the pressure get to him. Cubs need him to be a contact hitter, not a home run guy.
Mary-the Cubs lineup is so damn good, they may not need anything! Batters1 to 8 are solid and all teams would kill to have probably all of them on their own teams. A solid bunch! And they are missing the catcher Schwarber too. Damn.
that Cubs - Dodgers came was ugly. Cubs woke up and kicked their asses. Now it's the best of 3 and Cubs get 2 at home. Whomever wins tonight is in the driver's seat. Congrats to the Tribe! All this Cubs talk and the Tribe punch their first ticket to the WS since 1997! Small piece of trivia - my college buddy started his own sports agent business and his first semi-big client was Jose Mesa of the Indians, who blew game 7 of the 97 WS to the Marlins. Having Mesa, who was an All-Star, really helped his business grow. Now he's not Scott Boras or anything, but he still gets his 10% for a player - shitty or good.
Talking point about Lester last year was his year wasn't great. Well, he wasn't being paid for his regular season. He is being paid for what he has delivered this post season: Lester has a 0.86 ERA in 21 IP this postseason
Lester is a good to very good pitcher in the regular season. He's a stud in the postseason. Worth every penny. F! you, Lucchino.
wow, what a difference 48 hrs makes. Dodgers could've went up 3-1 and got hammered and then go up 3-2 and lost again. both at home mind you and lost both. Why is JOE BLANTON even out there? Didn't they learn anything from his last outing? He couldn't get me out! Jeez. Now the Cubs can erase the echoes, kill the goat and stash the Bartman talk once and for all with a win in games 6 or 7! This team is too good to lose both, so it looks like a Cubs-Tribe WS for all the marbles and winner breaks the losing streak of either 108 yrs or 68 years. Should be fun.
Gotta dance with who brung you. Especially given the alternatives. Dude was great for them all year, can't dismiss that because of one bad outing (and his last outing was a perfect inning in G3, actually). Whatever the outcome, Dave Roberts has managed the shit out of this team.
i hear ya but after game 1, i would be worried. game 5 is so crucial, you can't afford to lose. i know you play the odds, but now with 2 bad outings, you can't trust him. now it's on kershaw to save their season! man, so much riding on 1 game!
