igloo--i mentioned 2 weeks ago mccutchen is on the trade block. and after glasnow's outing vs the phils and 3 hit batters and 1 in the head, he's not ready for mlb just yet. he was a mess and all over the place with his command. for the future - it looks bright, just not this year.
Glasnow said he had a sore shoulder, but that he should go out and pitch anyways. He looked like he didn't belong in the majors. Seems like he was rattled every time someone was on base also. He looks like like he still has a lot to learn...... Taillon looks like the 2nd best starter on the team and he was just called up not long ago.....
Mets go down to the Rockies again giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th when they had a 1-0 lead........No win for de Grom....
Marlins getting Andrew Cashner and Colin Rea. In addition to Josh Naylor, Padres expected to receive power RH arm Luis Castillo.
4 outs, far out: Chapmania at Wrigley! CHICAGO -- Aroldis Chapman got the final four outs for his first save with the Cubs, and John Lackey outdueled Chris Sale on Thursday night to end the intracity series in a split decision, with each team able to brag that they defended home turf. Lackey picked up the win, his first since June 8, as the Cubs edged the White Sox, 3-1, at Wrigley Field to close the Interleague series against their crosstown rivals and spoil Sale's bid for his Major League-leading 15th win. yeah igloo the hit batters was a bit much and the one in the head was not good. i don't condone payback for beaning but something should've been done.
Yeah, your probably right Fish. I was surprised there was no payback. usually the other team likes to hit McCutchen for paybacks. And he doesn't like it but he knows how the the game is played. I would guess there was no payback because it was his 2nd game as rookie and was obvious nothing was intentional. But that doesn't stop some other teams as it happened recently and the opposing pitcher hit McCutchen. matter of fact, I think it was Eflin, no.......
Brewers trade Lucroy to the Indians. * Maybe, there might be a hitch... details when available. Lucroy deal is done, he is an Indian. Hearing early reports that the Yankees have traded Andrew Miller to the Indians also...
Whichever version of the story about why Lucroy vetoed the deal you want to believe, and as obvious as it seems to the rest of us that he should leap at the chance to go play for a legit WS contender, I can understand why he wouldn't want to just give away his no-trade rights for free, too.
Be still my heart, Clay Buchholz actually managed to string together 3 effective innings of pitching a baseball yesterday...quick, Dave, get him out of town before he inevitably turns back into a pumpkin at 4:00 this afternoon!
he vetoed the deal bc of playing time in 2017. he's worried that Yan Gomes will somehow cut into his playing time, so that was 1 big reason to veto the trade. to me to leave Milwaukee for a contender is a no-brainer, but im not him.
big rumors friday night at 10pm that the phils were going to trade Vince Velsaquez to Texas for Gallo and possibly Profar. By 10 am the next day, all talks were dead! How do 2 teams talk into the wee hours of the night and then have all talks turn dead? so if the price is too high - how about someone else? Texas has plenty of prospects to deal. now if the Phils were greedy and asking for an insane amount, i am not happy about that and that was an old Ruben Amaro trick. Get Gallo and whomever else you can. Stop being greedy here. For Hellickson, stop with this top 5 prospect requests crap. Enough of the greed. Get what you can. This guy is a tier 3 SP at best.
