pirates bean 2 Phillies on Friday and 3 on Saturday, including 2 in the head and no warnings? i would've thrown Glasnow out after he hit Rupp in the head. Enough is enough. Sorry but 3 for Glasnow in 3 innings is too much without a warning. And Franco and Rupp missed games due to them being hit too. now I really hate Pittsburgh!
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/c...throwbacks-for-several-reasons-but-not-looks/ Chris Sale is an ass. Just trade him and get rid of him. What a nut case.
hideous! i don't think a softball player would even wear that outfit! sale could've said it was uncomfortable. he didn't have to cut them all up. jeez.
Jays trade class-A pitcher Hansel Rodriguez to the Padres for Melvin Upton Jr. Padres are picking up $17M of the $22M left on his deal. Maybe now that he is a BJ he'll be called BJ Upton again.
I notice he's the same age Melvin was when he went into his 2 year funk in ATL...maybe it's something genetic that happens to members of that family when they turn 28?
Pirates starters-------3 that started the season are now in the bullpen, #4-Lariano has bee terrible this year, #5-Cole is not mentioned when talking about the elite pitchers but he's the best we got. The bullpen is not as good as it has been the past few years (probably to be expected).......and McCutchen has been crap at the plate the whole year so far! had to get that off my chest.......continue
Rangers acquire pitchers Harrell, Alvarez from Braves ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) ? The AL West-leading Texas Rangers have made their first move to get more pitching, acquiring right-handed starter Lucas Harrell and left-handed reliever Dario Alvarez from the Atlanta Braves for an infield prospect. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Wednesday that Texas may not be done shopping for pitching with the non-waiver trading deadline five days away. He said there are still ongoing conversations with other teams but didn't get into details. "We'll see where they go. I can't really handicap it at this point," Daniels said. "But yes, that's still our focus." Harrell is 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in five starts for the Braves since they purchased his contract from Triple-A Gwinnett earlier this month. The 31-year-old sinkerballer pitched in Korea last year after appearing in 88 major league games (62 starts) the previous five seasons for the Chicago White Sox (2010-11) and Houston (2011-14), where he worked with current Rangers pitching coach Doug Brocail. The Rangers sent 2013 first-round pick Travis Demeritte to Atlanta. They needed a starter for Sunday's series finale at home against Kansas City, and Daniels said the plan for now is to start Harrell then. In his last start for the Braves, Harrell threw six scoreless innings Tuesday night in a win at Minnesota. Alvarez was 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 16 relief appearances for the Braves, with 28 strikeouts in 15 innings. The left-hander set an Atlanta franchise record by striking out nine consecutive batters over three games earlier this month. "Looking at both of the pitchers we got, we feel like they can help our club," Daniels said. "They fill roles on the club, they add depth."
