Taillon is on the DL (sore shoulder). The Bucs called up someone I never heard of to start tonight. Glasnow is having problems. He is walking too many hitters to be called up. Can't believe Polanco didn't make the All Star Reserves. He is banged up some (can't run to his full extent). Possibly why he isn't on it........Probably wants to rest it for a week ?
people are up in arms over a few other snubs. to me as long as the WS Home field is on the line, i don't care about the game. the game should be fun. WS home field should not be on the line here. Selig is a dope for thinking of this. And to have an infield of Cubs is asinine! And how did Fowler make the team as a starter? Are they stuffing the boxes in Chicago? Ah, I can't wait till October when they lose again!
Brault pitched last night up from Single A ball. He threw 74 pitches in 4 and 1/3 innings. Got a hit in his 1st at bat also in a Bucco win. I don't know whats going on but Glasnow is supposed to start tomorrow afternoon against the Cards. 2 days after I read he's walking too many. But he also strikes out a lot of batters. Cubs losing again in the 9th...... *DANCE*
Pirates game just started. Glasnow on the mound in his MLB debut. He's considered the 8th best prospect in MLB by MLB.com...............Lets hope he lives up to his abilities......
he better. i got him on 2 fantasy teams! and why not play the best to see how you do? better to face the best than some creampuff! haha.
I agree. Its not going to be a cake walk is all im saying. He had to sit through a delay, now he gets the Cards lineup. I hope the best for him.
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/y...t-reportedly-for-complaining-to-front-office/ 2 weeks including missing the Futures Game. That's a little much isn't it? Wow Yankees!
Taillon wasn't bad for a debut. He gave up 2 runs (score 2-1) in 6 innings. It was when he was taken out that the other runs were scored. And the BP was fantastic lately. The Cards lost the first 3 games to the Bucs Will and the Pirates were going for a 4-game sweep in St. Louis. which is extremely hard to do against any team. Cards have been getting hit with a lot of nagging injuries. But so have the Bucs. I think the Bucs called up 3 rookies in the 4 games making their debut and losing only 1. I think Locke was the only veteran. to pitch in the series.......I should of looked up Glasnow. I didn't realize he was 6'8".....Cubs go down to the lowly Braves again...... *JOKINGLY*
mlb network said his pitches were solid and curveball excellent. it was his pitch decisions that were shocking. he threw 2 or 3 curveballs to grichek and i think he threw him 1 more he hit for a HR. gotta be smarter kid.
His pitching choices were not real good at the beginning of the game Fish. He was getting strikes called (so was Wainwright) off the plate outside. But when he got ahead, he changed and threw curveballs right down the middle, which got hit. It's like Bob Walk said, "When your getting calls outside of the strike zone, you keep going out a little further and a little further until you find out how far you can go outside the plate." Which he wasn't doing. He also had a hit his 1st time at bat (lucky). One of his foul balls, when he was at the plate, came right to his family while being interviewed by Pitt Root Sports and the guy in front of them got the ball. Really weird as you'll probably never see that again. His Dad then said that guy will never got out of the stadium alive!".....
Carlos Santana and Josh Donaldson are only MLB players with 20+ HR and 50+ BB in 1st half this season.
Mets' Harvey to have season-ending surgery for TOS NEW YORK (AP) ? Matt Harvey's season is over and he's "relieved" to have a reason for why it was so horrible. The former ace will have surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, sidelining the New York Mets pitcher until next year. The team said Friday the operation will be performed in St. Louis by Dr. Robert Thompson, but didn't announce a date. "I'm extremely disappointed to learn that I'll be out for the season, but I'm relieved to have answers and get back to doing what I love," Harvey posted on Twitter. "I hope you'll understand if I stay out of touch & stick to the business of getting healthy." Thoracic outlet syndrome is caused by the compression of nerves, blood vessels or both in the area between the neck and armpit. It's a serious condition that has interrupted and even jeopardized the careers of other major league pitchers. The surgery, which involves the removal of a rib, is designed to alleviate pressure on the affected nerves or blood vessels. Thompson, a TOS specialist, has performed similar operations on pitchers such as Jaime Garcia and Chris Young that helped them make successful returns to the mound. Harvey went 4-10 with a 4.86 ERA in 17 starts this season, and his final win came on May 30. He permitted 111 hits in 92 2/3 innings, with 76 strikeouts and 24 walks. It was a stunning flop for a pitcher who began the year 25-18 with a 2.53 ERA and 449 strikeouts in 427 major league innings. But despite his struggles, Harvey and the Mets had insisted all season that he was healthy. Until this week. (MLB.com)
Cubs falling down to Earth a bit. Only a 6.5 game lead now. Its going to be a race in the NL Central afterall.
