There are punches thrown in almost every single bench clearing brawl in baseball, it just so happens Odor can throw a punch unlike 95% of the rest of the major leagues and he's going to be punished basically because he's good at something. Baseball would probably be safer if these things were settled with a punch more often rather than a 95 mph fastball hitting someone.
Gonzalez dismissed as manager of Braves PITTSBURGH -- Experiencing their worst start to a season in more than 100 years, the Braves relieved Fredi Gonzalez of his managerial duties on Tuesday morning and elevated Triple-A Gwinnett manager Brian Snitker to be interim manager. The Braves also dismissed bench coach Carlos Tosca, who had served in that capacity for Gonzalez dating back to their time together with the Marlins from 2007-10. Terry Pendleton will become the bench coach. Pendelton's previous duties as first-base coach will be filled by Eddie Perez, whose previous role as bullpen coach will be filled by Marty Reed, who had been Gwinnett's pitching coach. Snitker has been a player, coach and Minor League manager within Atlanta's organization dating back to 1977. The 60-year-old suburban Atlanta resident was a member of the Braves' coaching staff from 2007-13. He became Gwinnett's manager in 2014. The Braves discussed having either Perez or Pendleton serve as the team's manager over the remainder of this season. But they view both as better candidates once it comes time to fill the managerial position on a permanent basis.
Reported suspensions as of now: Odor 8 games Gibbons 3 Chavez 3 Bautista 1 Andrus 1 Pillar, Donaldson, Bush 0 games _____________________________________________
Thats pretty much correct Fish. He was sent an email and also sent a one-way ticket back to Atlanta......Pirates pitching is terrible! They score a ton of runs and their pitchers can't hold a BIG lead. Then, Hurdle keeps putting in Vogelsong who is terrible. Pirates starters and middle relief are junk! They have a chance with 2 of their starters every game. Cole and Lariano. Other than that, theres nothing. Whats up with the Phils Fish? I'm shocked!!!!!! *SCRATCH* EDIT: I think Glasnow may be coming up very soon. Possibly Taillon also......Neither can be worse than some of the starters are now.......
igloo-new manager and a ton of guys looking to get signed past this year so they are all hungry and play hard. when you get paid, you get lazy, fat and unmotivated. these guys are previously rule 5 guys or cut players looking to play in '17 and beyond, so they are playing for their lives! big difference. wait till '17 and '18!
https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-...ad--then-make-up-at-first-base-134234910.html mad bum gets a little crazy. seems to work it out with myers. to me - if benches empty over something like this - fine the hell out of the teams. no need for benches to empty here. come on.

Sale now 9-0 after CG victory over Astros CHICAGO -- White Sox left-hander Chris Sale won his ninth straight start with a complete game as he outdueled Astros right-hander Collin McHugh in a 2-1 win on Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field. Sale became the first pitcher since Brandon Webb in 2008 to win each of his first nine starts and became only the second White Sox pitcher to win his first nine starts, joining Eddie Cicotte, who won 12 straight in 1919. "I think everybody should know how we feel about him, how I feel about him," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "He's special. He's a great pitcher, he's one of the best in the game. I just see him continuing to get better as the season goes along, as he goes through his career."
Reddick fractures left thumb on headfirst slide OAKLAND -- The A's will soon add another player to the disabled list, and a significant one at that: Josh Reddick will become the 12th member of the team to hit the DL after fracturing his left thumb in Thursday night's 4-1 loss to the Yankees. The A's will have a better idea of Reddick's expected return date after he sees a hand specialist Friday, but the right fielder said he was initially told he'll be out four to six weeks. "Frustrating, beyond," said Reddick, who sustained the injury while stealing second base.
Angels' deal with Lincecum finalized The Angels have completed their deal with right-hander Tim Lincecum and will pay him a base salary of about $2 million for the rest of the season, a source tells MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez. MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported the news Thursday. The club has not confirmed the agreement, which also would reportedly include up to $1.7 million in incentives. The Angels, in desperate need of pitching depth due to injuries, reportedly had been close to a deal with Lincecum since early this week. Another source said the deal could be announced on Friday, and that Lincecum would first go to the Minor Leagues before being added to the Angels' roster. Lincecum, 31, is coming off hip surgery and held a showcase for interested teams in Scottsdale, Ariz., on May 6. The four-time All-Star won back-to-back National League Cy Young Awards for the Giants from 2008-09, but has posted a 4.68 ERA in more than 600 innings since '12, while dealing with declining velocity and physical issues.
sale is untouchable right now! wow. hope tim lincecum can rebound to his somewhat old self. poor break for reddick. no pun intended.
Arrieta... 8-0 SAN FRANCISCO -- Friday night's matchup of National League heavyweights became a tag-team affair dominated by the Chicago Cubs, as Jake Arrieta overpowered the San Francisco Giants and Kris Bryant delivered a telling uppercut. The result was an 8-1 triumph for the Cubs, who halted the Giants' eight-game winning streak while improving their Major League-best record to 29-11. Chicago received a typical effort from Arrieta (8-0), who limited the Giants to one run and four hits in seven innings. A five-run, second-inning outburst, capped by Bryant's three-run homer, gave the right-hander ample support.
Bradley singles, hitting streak at 26 games BOSTON -- Jackie Bradley Jr.'s hitting streak continued to 26 games in the sixth inning on an infield single that looked like it was going into center field before Cleveland second baseman Jason Kipnis made a diving stop to his right. Kipnis swiveled and threw the ball to first base as a charging Bradley stretched just in time to be called safe. The ruling was that first baseman Carlos Santana's foot came off the bag just as Bradley touched the base. Indians manager Terry Francona challenged the call, but it stood after a delay of 42 seconds because the replay official couldn't definitively tell if Santana's foot was in contact with the bag while the ball was in his glove prior to Bradley getting to first. With that single, Bradley is eight games away from tying Dom DiMaggio's longest streak in franchise history. Bradley was intentionally walked during his first at-bat and walked again in his second.
