Whats worse a strikeout or a double play? An out is an out. It depends on situations if it a productive out. Also, you still dont acknowledge that Castro K rate is more then acceptable. Keep spinning those tires.

What's wrong with having both on the team? Doesn't that make the Cubs better?

We do need table setters, and Castro is not a table setter. He is a 6th to 7th man in a line-up on a good team. He should be right ahead of Baez in the line-up, unless Baez improves greatly, and right now, I have Castro behind Soler, Rizzo, and Bryant, even though Bryant has yet to swing at a major league pitch.

There would be nothing better to me, than to have Coghlan/Alcantara and Cabrera at the top, before the power hitters come to the plate.

You would like to have a pitcher thinking that there is no easy outs in the line-up, and even the Cubs weakest average hitters in Alcantara and Baez (which should improve), have the ability to go yard also.

Oh, and the other outs in the line-up would be Cabrera, Bryant, Rizzo, Soler, Castro, and Castillo.

Not a whole lot of breaks in that line-up.

  4. I would not give up a draft pick for Cabrera. The fact that he's been linked to PED's at all suggest that he's not the best veteran influence for our young talent. I would rather have Aoki at the top of our order.

But then again, if the Cubs were in fact to sign Cabrera I would still support it because, after all, I am a fanboy... *DRINK*

Cabrera is just one option. Denard Span makes sense too as a lead-off hitter and CF and would be an upgrade to Alcantara.

Maybe they deal Castro for pitching or catching and Baez takes SS on an interim basis with Arismendy going to 2B. Would definitely put wheels at the top of the order.

Another one would be to trade off some of the youth (wouldn't take a lot) for Matt Joyce of Tampa since he is in Arb 3 and Tampa is known for not paying. He could play LF, and they could probably get him for Anderson and Chunk or something like that.

    A completely ignorant statement.

An out is not an out.

Typical fanboy stupidity to point out the exception and try and pass it off as the rule.

An average major league team strikes out about 1100 times a season while grounding into about 115 double plays.

So, you just made my point. Congrats!

  10. $9 million club option on Span. Washington should pick that up...
