How do you sell the idea that "this week's game is the most important game we'll play" if you're sitting guys who are "hurtin"?

At the same time I don't want players to be subpar all year with the dreaded "high ankle sprain". I guess, I'd rather he just came out and said, I'm not playing Ward & Greedy, so they can have another couple weeks and be 100% rather than risk losing them for the year.

In reality it's Hollywood's knee that really concerns me. Losing Njoku wouldn't have hurt as much if Hollywood was at 100%. Calloway is green, not so bright, and unreliable, where as Hollywood was rock solid.

One thing well they need more than one thing is a TE Mayfield can go to . Dorsey has ignored the TE position other than signing the stiff Harris .

Big time needs are TE . two tackles and two corners who are not made of glass . Her spent high picks on both Ginger & Donna who cant find the field and blew another one on Corbett who is a total BUST . So far the only high pick Dorsey has hit on is Chubb yes the jury is still out on Mayfield .

Maybe Baker should spend more time doing commercials ?

I hate to say that the Seachicken game is a must win but … they need it bad as they haven't won a game at home yet .

Baker Mayfield‘s turnovers are killing the Browns.

He had his fourth three interception game of his career Sunday. The second-year quarterback has played only 20 games, with 19 starts.

Mayfield leads the NFL with 11 interceptions this season and his 25 dating to last season also lead the league, according to profootballfocus.com.

“I think each and every interception has its own story,” Browns coach Freddie Kitchens said Monday, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I want Baker to continue to work to make better decisions. Then we need to work around him to make sure we’re where we need to be. Quarterback play is dictated by people around him being on same page.”

The Browns are 0-7 when Mayfield has a multi-interception game, according to Cabot.

Kitchens defended his quarterback after Sunday’s loss to Seattle when Mayfield went 22-of-37 for 249 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions.

“I thought Baker was wired in, focused, concentrated during the course of the week,’’ Kitchens said. “We had the best week of practice that we’ve had and did not execute in the critical situations, and I did not call good enough plays in critical situations. We are going to continue to get better each and every day.”

The Browns are off this week, giving them a chance to regroup before facing the Patriots.

Baker needs this bye to find himself. His performance is the single biggest reason for the Browns poor start. He is not decisive, is late, and is off target too often. I don't believe that is who he is as a QB, but it is who he's been this year so far.

Would it be better if he had Njoku, Higgins, a better left tackle? Yes, but none of those things can explain his performance thus far. Could the play calling be better. Sure, but something is not right with our QB, and it's not physical.

Freddie has to take a fair level of blame as well, and frankly we should have expected both to struggle, as first year guys, learning their positions. but it has hurt to watch them continue to struggle, with the same things week after week.

4 turnovers, and a blocked punt are to blame for this latest loss. The officiating was crap, but the game was still ours to take. Still it's the errant throws and the poor tackling that are elements outside of officiating, that the team has to accept responsibility for, and fix.

I still believe they have the talent to turn it around, but it's not talent they lack. They need to pull together as a team, and Baker has to own up to his shortcomings, and grow from them. Can they beat NE and recapture some of the magic?

    After 6 weeks, here are the AFCN standings;
    1. Ravens 4-2-0 (2-1 in the division)
    2. Browns 2-4-0 (1-0 in the division)
    3. Steelers 2-4-0 (1-1 in the division)
    4. Bengals 0-6-0 (0-2 in the division)
I am going predict, right here and now, as the Browns and Steelers both enter their bye week - that the Steelers will win the AFC North.

I'll predict 3rd in AFCN for Pittsburgh, behind Cleveland and Baltimore.

Browns will win the division. It's been a horrific start, but there is still plenty of time. The luck has been typical. All the crazy interceptions are tough to explain, but that's just not the Baker Mayfield I've watched for the last several years. This offense will prove to be as dynamic as we all thought it would be. The chemistry with all these new parts just isn't there yet, but I believe it will be, sooner rather than later...

Some of the INT's are on the receivers but some are because Mayfield just doesn't throw a catchable ball. This was mentioned on another thread....he zips everything and has no touch at the moment. The good news is that's fixable.

Lots of folks still riding the rollercoaster with us.

Baldy's "1-5 in in first six starts" got me thinking... maybe he's just a slow-starting NFL QB?

    Mayfield (first six starts, 2018): 142 of 242 (58.7%), 1,567 yards (261.2 YPG; 6.5 YPA), 10 TD, 7 INT, 21 sacks, 79.7 QB rating

    Mayfield (first six starts, 2019): 112 of 198 (56.6%), 1,496 yards (249.3 YPG; 7.6 YPA), 5 TD, 11 INT*, 16 sacks, 66.0 QB rating

*Five of those INTs are "unlucky" plays, meaning Baker did the right thing with the football and the tipped ball just ended up in the defender's hands... he's +4 higher than any other QB, none of which have more than +1 "unlucky" INT

I give Dorsey credit. He always seems to find that sucker that was born every minute.

Scuttlebutt has it as a 2021 Day 3 pick... basically garbage.

Corbett was the #33 overall pick 18 months ago.

Corbett was garbage. Expected to move into Zeitler's vacant spot, he has logged only 1 snap this season.

Corbett gone . Total BUST ! At least Dorsey admitted he drafted the POS and he wasn't going to work out . I am hearing Williams name as well . Wonder what that will cost ?? We wont have a draft next year as he traded quite a bit of it away trying to fix his Corbett fuck up .

Why would Dorsett try to replace a member of the "best left side o-line in the NFL"? ;)

So they can move Robinson to the worst left side O-line in the NFL ? ;)
