Seeing a how this is the first time in God knows how long that we actually expect to be competing for a playoff spot, this is a far more critical issue.

I still favor Tyrod, but that may not work out. I guess I'm inclined to get a vet as opposed to a 3rd - 4th round draft choice.

    #1 is keep Baker upright!

The moment Baker is no longer the starter is the moment the Browns are no longer contenders for anything.

I would be shocked if Tyrod were to return for a second year. He will find SOMEONE to give him a job as a bridge QB, similar to last year.

If we do bring in another Vet, I don't think it will be very high profile.

I personally think they hang on to Stanton for 2019. You need four arms to get through training camp and, no, we currently dont have a QB stashed away on the Practice Squad. That means (assuming Tyrod is gone - and most likely he will be) we actually need two more to start training camp. Options are:
    1. Trade for an experienced QB that a team is trying to unload for whatever reason. This is, by far, the least attractive option.
    2. Let the dust settle from the QB carousel and sign one that ended up getting released. (Think Case Keenum, Ryan Tannehill, etc.)
    3. Draft one on day three.
    4. Sign one as an UDFA.
I believe options 3 and 4 are in play. Whoever those two end up to be, one will get cut and the other will end up on the Practice Squad.

Brogan Roback would have been good on the PS. Now he's a steeler.

This is what I prioritized two months ago...What has happened since then?

DT - JUST announced Sheldon Richardson is signing with the Browns tomorrow
    LB - released Jamie Collins
    CB - nothing yet
    WR - tendered Rashard Higgins
OT - re-signed Greg Robinson to a one year deal
Depth - upgraded the DE position with a trade for Olivier Vernon, while it would seem weakening the RG position by trading away Kevin Zeitler

The defensive line is in better position already than in 2018, the offensive line...well we will have to wait and see if Austin Corbett is a worthy successor. If he is, this could be a good start to the new season.

On a day that has seen record dollar amounts flying around for players, the Browns were quiet. Day two has started off with a solid announcement of a signing, that if reports are correct, is right in line with money that a player of his caliber should be getting.

    Here we go...

Does anyone know if there's a player still on the roster who can play Center? Tretter ain't getting any younger and played through an injury for most of 2018. All I could find is a Reserve/Futures Contract player named Kyle Friend.

No, other than Corbett who is now our starting RG... I expect them to draft one in the mid rounds. Some decent centers coming out.

I still say don't rule out OL in the first round...If that's the direction, after watching the Combine, this is the one I'd target:

    Andre Dillard

It could happen, I just have been less than impressed with this tackle class.

Oh man...I'd love to get another stud LT in the fold for another decade or so. To me, Dillard looks like a complete lock to be a cornerstone piece.

I'd love to also, I'm just not impressed with the class.

dont think they're going OL in rd 1 :p

BOLD PREDICTION: Eric Kush will be the starting RG before Kareem Hunt sees the active roster.

Kush is the main reason I didn't panic on Center in the mock, even though I had originally planned to address the position.... I have faith that he'll be a solid #2 Center.

Same with back-up QB...We signed Baker's old high school buddy, and I'm thinking he might make the roster.

Kush has never played Center. Neither has Corbett, Lamb, Bitonio, etc.

  17. TopDawg Legend

I remember him from HARD KNOCKS with the Rams...He can play Center

He's the Browns back up Center right now.

    Whatever you say, TD.
