Its the day before Rd 1 of the draft and this board is silent.

I never thought I would see the day we weren't arguing over who should be the 1st rd pick.

    :bravo:

We can still argue... it should be Quinnen Williams.

It will likely be Kyler Murray and some team is going to be sorely disappointed.

I say it should be Quinnen Williams...

    Wait...were we supposed to argue?

Williams is the perfect pick for the Cardinals.

Williams is awesome, but the Cardinals need O-line help as bad as any team I've ever seen....

If Cards decide to trade down, they should target OT IMO...

    Rosen needs protection

He'll get it in New York. Giants can take Jonah Williams at #6 after trading #37 for Rosen.

I did one last mock just before the draft. Here is what I ended up with (using the player rankings from the site visited, then sifting through the sea of WR and RB and mostly ignoring them):

    49 - CB Justin Layne
    80 - DL Dremont Jones
    119 - S Ugochukwu Amadi
    144 - TE Kaden Smith
    155 - OT Tyler Roemer
    170 - LB Ben Burr-Kirven
189 - WR David Sills V (great story on this kid if you haven't seen it)
    221 - Edge Shareef Miller

In all the mocks, I never saw Greedy fall to Cleveland....

    Okay, Draftniks . . .

Talk to me about Sione Takitaki. I'm all ears.

I think Takitaki was a Paul DePodesta influenced pick. Just a hunch....

I remember them talking about him being in the upper percentile on most of the Combine drills. Did well on the bench (24). 37 inch vertical....and several agility drills.

I don't know a ton about him. He stood out in the Shrine game as a playmaker. Had some trouble off the field with immature shit his first two years. Dorm fights and stuff. But he seemed to grow up. He became a real team leader and Captain... I studied him a little bit after Irish took him for Chicago in the GMO. Most were calling him a late round prospect, but I actually came away thinking he had a chance to go in middle rounds. Third round seems a bit high. We'll see.. He's a good athlete.

Had to feel bad for poor Justin Layne...lol! The Dark Side came after him.

I really thought for a minute that the Browns were gonna double down on CB, and snag Layne anyway....Takitaki surprised many.

I know one report I read about Sione Takitaki said that there was a lot of love for him among NFL GM's, even though he was projected lower.

Went sniffing about this morning after posting my question.
    • Sounds like this was one of Eliot Wolf's guys.
    • "trouble off the field" may be putting it mildly. He was kicked off the team at BYU for stealing athletic equipment.
    • Dropped about 25 pounds and moved from DE to OLB. He may turn out to be a thumper at LB.
    • Projected by most to be a mid to late third day pick.

Anybody know what we gave up to move from 2-49 to 2-46 ?

Prior to that trade up, I think we had 6 day three picks. I'm assuming we now have less than than 6?

The Indianapolis Colts traded the No. 46 overall pick to the Cleveland Browns for the No. 49 overall pick and a fifth-rounder (No. 144).
