The Steelers were rated number one on the oline this season (16 games) not a half of the season.

Browns were rated number two on the oline this season (16 games) not a half of the season.

Our 16 games includes eight with Todd Haley and Hue Jackson calling the shots and an undrafted rookie free agent manning the spot at left tackle after being named the starter two days before the regular season - our Pro Bowl left guard had to kick back inside after spending time at left tackle.

    Not so fast @SAS

The Browns are sending Kevin Zeitler, starting RG to the Giants for the $15.5M per year pass rusher...

(edit) Also...Browns receive the Giants #132 overall pick in 2019 and the Giants receive the Browns #155 overall pick in 2019.

Back to your regularly scheduled program...

No jump in logic. You cite that you stopped following national media then proceed to reference national media. Of all the national guys who are purveyors of BS and just sling garbage left and right you pick the one that actually seems to work with a little bit of journalistic integrity.

This is also a message board, and talking about rumors and possibilities is kind of the freaking point, man. So IDK if its a rumor from Barstool (trash), if its involving the Browns it is worth talking about.

It's kind of a "meh" move for me. We're swapping the #6 overall guard for the #13 overall EDGE player. Sure, it's an upgrade from Ogbah, but what must Dorsey think of the EDGE guys in this class... many of whom should be available at that #17 spot?

What did Gilbert have to do with our oline being number one? He only played like two games last season, that’s why he is saying goodbye. We did resign the guy who played and helped us earn the number one ranking though.

I think it's more about possibly getting the 3rd best early rusher in this class

Could be less about that position and more about the position he intends to covet early.

If last year provides any kind of blueprint for Dorsey in Cleveland, he may already know exactly what he wants to do in that first round and he will blow smoke up everyone's ass for the next 2 months to keep his intentions foggy.

I figure it meant all-in on that defensive interior spot - Wilkins, Simmons, Oliver (if he drops).

True, but that's easier when you own two of the first four picks. A lot can happen between #1 and #16.

^^Interesting look at a conversation going different directions on the same highway, lol.

Very true, and I can agree with that. The "SWAP" tells me Dorsey wasn't blowing smoke with his list if most important positions: 1) QB 2) pass rushers 3) shut down CB

    He stopped there...

I don't think he's done, he wants 4 pass rushers on that line, right now he has 3.

So, I think you're right, it will either be a 3T DT or another CB at #17

The thing is...that graphic above, Vernon is #14, which means the Browns now have (2) of the top 14 of 2018..That should help put it a little into perspective. Question is, is Jason Pierre-Paul better than Myles Garrett? That is who was helping out Vernon in 2018...We really didn't have anyone helping out Myles in 2018. I think they both got an upgrade.

Actually, JPP was playing for Tampa last season. I think it was technically Kareem Martin (who?) playing opposite Vernon who was himself playing out of position - NYG operated primarily out of the 3-4 scheme.

If Vernon can get back to this 11.5 sack season that helped him, in part, earn that bloated contract... great! If not, it seems like a steep price to pay to help out Myles Garrett.

Dee Ford, drafted by Dorsey, was tagged and the rumored asking price was a second round pick. Zeitler and Ford for the price of #49 overall seems better to me than Vernon and #132 for Zeitler and no Dee Ford.

    Oh, I forgot about that...

Both of these guys should get a bump with having each other's back...Add one more piece on that line and this defense, on paper, should make a pretty big leap. Add another CB and this team should be dangerous. Add a LB or (2) and this team should be ready to help win a championship.

So "hits" must be a subjective stat.

This has Vernon at 2nd in the NFL with 13 hits. Another site had Garrett at 4th in the NFL with 19 hits. Still another reference had Garrett t-5th with 29. The reference with Garrett at 29 put Vernon at 21. The reference with Garrett at 19 put Vernon at 21. So maybe Garrett's the one that's tough to pin down from a hit count perspective.

Regardless... Browns are going to be putting opposing QB's on their back next season. Or, to borrow (again) from the 2019 war cry:
