I think shooting % is pretty bad. I think both are worthless for top line players. I do find some value in +/- for 2nd and 3rd line players and 2nd defensive pairs but that value is very small and only of use when I'm too lazy to look up all the advanced stats.

In OVs case, I think evaluating him by shooting % is vital.
