This pissed me off. I dont want to see those clowns anywhere, especially in the restroom while im there. Maybe im old-fashioned, maybe im prejudice, but to hell with gender benders period. Im sick of a few people claiming rights violations when they make up about 0.00089% of society.

I wouldnt have a problem if these types were discrete, but 99.9% of these peeps flaunt their sexuality in strange and perverse and negative ways. I dont want to go to the restroom with my little nephews and such and have those freaks of nature hanging around.

I know my attitude and some of the things i expressed might rub someone in the wrong direction, but hey, guess what, i have an opinion and rights too. I just expressed and used them.

 

If a man walked into a ladies restroom at the PNC and someone wife came out weeping that individual will have the crapped beat out of him and he'd have his wife file pervasive charges against them. It is total BS to allow men in womens restrooms and you can beat some man will be shot by a lady or worse yet some young female will be raped by an individual claiming LGBT status when they were just waiting on their prey.

 

Not a fan of the bill.
I hope the rest of the league follows suit. Of course it's easy for the Hurricanes to stay friendly since they get to play both sides. They can hide behind the law if it suits their interest or not if that works better for them.

If some lady stands up next to me at a urinal, I'll survive.

Too many "normal" sickos out there for me to worry about transgenders and what not.
Until they can keep all the "normal" people in line and weed out all the sickos from that demographic, I'm not a fan of discriminatory policies.

 

...and thats cool too. That is what makes this country and its people interesting and great.

I just dont agree, and im all for not having dresses in the Mens room or penis's in the Lady's room - i draw a line on things.

I think bettman's real weak on this issue, but, what does he care? He's making 8M a year, and he figure's it's the nhlpa's baby. If they'll strongly defend the fighters, maybe he just doesn't care enough to put up a fight.

on a serious note, 3rd gender rights are prioritized below chicken rights in my humble opinion. do not cater to the 1/3 of 1%. why do the ts/tg advocates say eat moar salami, brauts and polish sausages? i would have a hard time telling an 8 year old why a dude is wearing a dress. yikes, to be a parent today, good luck. son, that is a dude and you know how to defend yourself, so don't let the guy in a dress fondle you, even if he looks like patrick kane.

 

Declassified NHL memos, emails detail concussion debate

Unsealed NHL documents in the concussion lawsuit brought by former players reveal an internal debate by league officials over head injuries and a deeper concern about the impact of fighting than what has been publicly shared by NHL leadership.

Spokesman Frank Brown said Tuesday the league?s stance has not changed from Commissioner Gary Bettman?s comments during the All-Star game weekend. Bettman said then that the release of the ?out of context? documents would be ?a distraction at best? and ?not impact the merits of the case.?

The material was obtained by The Associated Press from counsel for the plaintiffs.

More than 100 former NHL players have joined the class action against the league over its handling of concussions.

CALGARY ? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau waded into the hockey concussion debate Tuesday, urging the NHL to look at head injuries ?as a very real problem.?

Trudeau was asked for his thoughts on the issue a day after court documents revealed an internal debate by NHL officials over head injuries and a deeper concern about the impact of fighting than what has been publicly shared by league leadership.

The prime minister said he worries about concussions, especially as a father who has watched his son ?bravely get out onto the pond ice, usually with a helmet on throughout this past winter??

?Any active player of sports has to be aware of concussions and I certainly hope that the NHL is thinking both of its responsibility towards its players and to the example of so many young people who look to the NHL as a dream but may not reach it, and understand the severity with which we need to look at concussions as a very real problem,? Trudeau said after a roundtable event in Calgary.

Court denies NHL motion to dismiss concussion suit over CBA

A federal judge in Minnesota has denied the NHL?s latest attempt to throw out a class-action lawsuit by former players filed over head injuries.

The league had argued that the suit should be tossed because the issues raised by the former players were covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the players? union. U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson wrote in a 47-page opinion Wednesday that the contract does not pre-empt legal action, in part because the players are retired and no longer subject to the CBA. Nelson also wrote that the subjects of the complaint are not spelled out in the CBA.

Dan LaCouture, Michael Peluso, Gary Leeman, Bernie Nicholls, David Christian and Reed Larson represent former players who say the NHL did not sufficiently protect or inform the players of the dangers when it comes to head injuries they suffered when they played.

Last year, the NHL filed to have the lawsuit dismissed based on statute of limitations. That was also denied.

Stuart Davidson of Robbins Geller, a lawyer for the players, called the order a ``historic decision in American sports and labour law.''

In a statement emailed to The Associated Press, the NHL said: ``Based upon our review of Judge Nelson's opinion, with which we respectfully disagree, the opinion merely defers to another day a resolution of the pre-emption issues underlying our motion.''

University of Illinois labour expert Michael LeRoy said the court's opinion is significant because the case remains alive and he wondered if the NHL might move toward settling this case like the NFL did with its concussion lawsuit.

``The NHL had to try'' to get the case dismissed on these grounds, LeRoy said. ``But this crosses a bridge and it leads to the courthouse, not away from the courthouse.'' (SN)
