The Vanishing or (Keepers) - interesting movie that i saw on my streaming device. simple enough story which then goes freaking crazy with greed, lies, betrayal, murder, death and madness. not bad.

seeing GLASS tonight in the theater ! CAn't wait. Full report tomorrow.

  6. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Original (Dutch) version, or Jeff Bridges/Kiefer Sutherland re-make?

  7. Catfish Guest

no that's a totally different movie or movies. the bridges/sutherland one also features an unknown sandra bullock as sutherland's gf. i saw both versions and the remake is better. the dutch one's ending was lame i recall.

this is set in off of Scotland and 3 lighthouse keepers. a rowboat and passenger crash upon the rocks and a locked chest. well the passenger wasn't breathing upon being checked on, so they get the chest. i won't say what happens after that but read my above post for what goes on. all of that is much more than the other vanishing movies. this one stars gerald butler.

Don't know if I added this here when I saw the movie first, but have watched it several times since - Atomic Blonde. Awesome movie. It's a 1980's fever dream action / spy thriller, where Charlize Theron manages to be an undercover and bloody firefight badass all at the same time. James McAvoy does a phenomenal job, as well, even though his role wasn't publicized much leading up to it. Killer movie. Highly recommended. Recently taken off HBO, not sure where else you can see it streaming.

  9. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Huh. I thought the re-make's ending was totally weak and "hollywood-ized." Original was no happy ending, no "good guy gets his revenge on baddie."

eh - they were so long ago, i barely recall them. i know i watched the first one after the second one on netlfix to see how good it was.

GLASS - the final film in the Unbreakable series. Wow. A lot going on in this movie. The reviews are not good and fans expected so much more out of this film. This is how M. Night does things. Just when we expect the movie one way - bam it goes another. i liked it a lot. it tied up all the loose ends from Split and all other ends as well. A solid ending to the trilogy. i think fans wanted so much more but how else could it have gone ? i mean really, what can you do with an older bruce willis and sam l jackson 20 yrs after the first movie??

I wasn't buying that Doctor's story of convincing them their powers weren't real. now i know why she was trying to convince them of that.

STRONGER-true story of the victim who lost both legs from the bombing attacks at the Boston Marathon, but it was his description of the one bomber that got him caught. the rest of the story is his comeback and many hardships without any legs etc. hard to watch. Jake Gyllenhaal was fantastic in the role. how he wasn't Oscar Nominated is baffling. the movie was a flop, so that probably had something to do with it. Miranda Richardson was great as well as his alcoholic Mother and every bit as good as Melissa Leo who won an Oscar for the Fighter. Richardson wasn't nominated either.

SERENITY-wow. previews look amazing and a good mystery revenge movie. the ending is so idiotic i drove home mad from the theater. i will not even use a spoiler. im telling you the ending so you can ALL SAVE MONEY -- the entire movie is a video game ! it's all in this kid's imaginary world as he's abused and uses this fake video game world to dream out his life for him and how he would want things bc his real life is so bad. how the hell did Oscar winners Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway sign up for this is beyond me. Wow. AVOID AVOID AVOID and run like Forrest Gump from this dud.

HUNTER KILLER - another dud of a movie. They should've kept the opening sequence and kept the plot around that instead of this Russian takeover. idiotic and lame. AVOID like the Black Plague. You will thank me later.
