They did - Viola Davis also won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for the role. James Earl Jones and Mary Alice won Tonys in the original Broadway production 30 years ago.
Tried to watch "The Secret Life of Pets" last night. Even for a kids' movie it was pretty bad. Not one that everyone will enjoy. If your kids want to watch it, plan to occupy yourself with something else.
that's an oldie but a goodie. saw it many times. Val Kilmer actually does his own singing in the movie. The guys who made the movie are the same guys who made Airplane.
Airplane was a classic. I picked a bad day to quit smoking, sniffing glue, snorting coke, taking pills. The inflatable pilot with the blow hole on his crotch so the stewardess looks like she is giving a blow job. And much much more.
The most underratedly brilliant part of Airplane! was the casting - a bunch of serious actors that would've been in real disaster films in the 70's like Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, Leslie Nielsen, and Robert Stack, and then Barbara Billingsley as the jive talk translator.
One of them I think it was Stack mentioned that he didnt get his lines in one of the scenes and one of the other actors said there is literally shit hitting the fan behind you nobody is going to care.
That's funny Jean! I'm not a huge fan of movies (or tv) but one old movie that I absolutely love is Secondhand Lions. Has anyone seen that one?
yes with Oscar Winners Michael Caine and Robert Duvall and Oscar nominee Haley Joel Osment. Good stuff BF.
