Holden was my Dad's favorite. He was great in that role. I don't think it was fixed - with a movie career on the horizon, she's worth a shit ton of money. How much could they have bribed her with? I think the fear of getting another beatdown took her out of her game - things are different once you're exposed to be mortal. Mike Tyson lost that aura when Buster Douglas cleaned his clock.

but Tyson made a fight of it for 7 rds and Douglas got a gift 8 count too. Rousey in her second loss had her hands at her sides the entire 30 seconds the fight lasted, which was not her fighting style. I'm saying she took a dive to lose and lose badly, so she can retire. I think she does more modeling than movies and now she's in the WWE.
I read somewhere this was a stage play. Holden was the same character in the play. The movie Director Otto Preminger, who later was Mr. Freeze in the Batman TV show, didn't want him to come back through the hole and salute the men. Holden refuse to do the movie without that little simple scene. Preminger gave in. Wow. To buck the director over a 2 second gesture ? Crazy. I think Holden died because he was a heavy drunk and tripped over something and bled to death or died from a head contusion. Something bad like that. One of his last movies was with a young Ricky Schroeder who was in Silver Spoons with a young Jason Bateman.
Super Trooper 2 - the long awaited sequel to Super Troopers came out last night and it royally sucked. All this wait for this ? They asked fans to contribute to making the movie and got $2 million dollars and this is what they made? 5 guys couldn't come up with a better movie than this piece of shit? the plot is right out of Scooby-Doo. the jokes few and far between. wow. it was like they couldn't think of any jokes for this movie and struggled to write the ones they finally came up with. sad man. C-.
(COCK) Blockers - funny at times. Sad that John Cena is the best part of the movie. Leslie Mann was just way too hyper in the movie. She needed to be unplugged. The 3rd parent was a waste. The 3 child actors, although acted before in other movies, were awful. it seemed like they were first time actors and it showed. they all sucked. total flat and no chemistry or believability. Overall just a mess of a movie. C-
Atomic Blonde - ugh. confusing plot. bad acting. great action. Charlize Theron needs to go back to dramas. She can't carry an action movie like this.
SOLO-LOVED IT. Good performances all around and especially by Woody Harrelson. Solid plot and the CGI/effects were awesome. They didn't try and do too much here with it after the 2 original directors were fired. I do wish the Paul Bettany had more to his role, but overall it was very good. I wish they would've met Spoiler Jabba the Hutt at the end of the movie vs just saying we got someone to meet on Tattooine, but I knew they meant him. Seeing Darth Maul was a nice surprise. I thought we would see Darth Vader or the Emperor.
Deadpool 2. Much like the first one - I hated it, too much of Ryan Reynolds talking to the camera and acting silly. the first 20 min had no plot. just Reynolds acting like an ass. Film sequences way too fast. can't focus on everything. too much going on and the word "fuck" is every 4 seconds. Just awful really.
HANGMAN - somehow Al Pacino was in this movie. How does one of the greatest actors ever stoop so low to be in this movie? How does crap like this even get made ? Not a bad movie or plot. Decent suspense and crimes. Just shocked Al Pacino was the lead.
The Americanization of Emily (1964) - James Garner, Julie Andrews, James Coburn. Good, funny (with dramatic moment) anti-war movie.
death wish - remake. exactly what I thought it would be. silly but solid action and a lot of death. it's not really a remake as the profession of bruce willis is different than Bronson's and Willis' wife and daughter weren't raped like Bronson's were. And the guys who commit the crime weren't random as if you pay attention at the beginning reveals why they were robbed/attacked.
The Cincinnati Kid. Never saw it before. Had to give it a whirl. Love it. Shocked at the last hand, but thought it was great for 1963. Up there with other good movies about cards like Rounders and Molly's Game... Robinson and McQueen are great in the movie.
Nobody's Fool - Paul Newman, Melanie Griffith, Bruce Willis, Jessica Tandy. Very good slice-of-life movie.
very good movie. Willis was excellent and missed out on an Oscar Nom. Newman was Oscar nominated for the role. Movie has a few subplots that all work well together.
Was sick in bed Thursday-Saturday, so nothing to do but watch TV and movies. Mostly older ones: Unforgiven The Outlaw Josey Wales The Warriors The Help Coffy The More the Merrier Walk, Don't Run
Saw the limited released GOTTI movie. wow. what a piece of shit from that midget troll douche Kevin Connolly from Entourage. Travolta is bad, The acting is awful. The script was co-written by a long time actor who has never been a big star in anything, which is a bad sign, and the movie is more about his son than Gotti himself. terrible all around. avoid like the plague.
