although i saw the original, the new live action beauty and the beast shattered a ton of records worldwide! wow. $180 mil i think opening weekend world wide. that's nuts.
Watched Passengers with Chris Partt and Jennifer Lawrence last night and thought it was average. Twas a looong movie. I thought the beginning was really slow and long.......
new beauty and the beast. i saw it for free. would never pay to see it. not even close to as good as the original. same story but just flat all over. the artistry to the cartoon can't be replicated by live action for this. the cartoon was the first cartoon ever to be nominated for BEST PICTURE when it was only 5 nominees. that's saying something special. this falls flat. the beast isn't scary and unlike the cartoon you can't see his features that well or his despair or compassion. his mannerisms from the cartoon along with the coffer pot and cup, the candlestick and clock make the movie. now they are just additions that don't add anything to it. and they said Emma Watson does her own singing? the voice doesn't sound like her voice and it doesn't look like she's belting out the song compared to her mouth. it looks dubbed.
Two older movies directed by Paul Newman and starring his wife Joanne Woodward: Rachel, Rachel The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds Both were good, slow-paced, slice-of-life movies.
jackson has her beat. he's in everything. fairchild was in a bunch, but there are movies and jackson appears as a cameo out of no where.
Morgan Freeman, right?..........Morgan Fairchild is a woman, no? I've watched a ton of movies from Redbox. I just never posted them. The most recent 3 the past few days have been Nocturnal Animals which I thought was decent (I know Fish didn't like it). A Kind Of Murder with Patrick Wilson, it's like a 1940's movie (no technology). It makes you think how the hell the police caught people without camera's, camera phones, DNA, etc. and Priceless which was okay but the musical group was better! If you've ever heard of King & Country, if their new cd is out. It's pretty good. They play some songs on the DVD live. The lead singer also stars in the movie. The moral of the movie is how to treat women! If your into that?
Freeman wasn't even Oscar Nominated for Lean on Me as Principal Joe Clark. Compared to Oscar winners now, that could've easily been Oscar #2 for Freeman.
a kind of murder. ugh. i was hoping it was a noir film that capture the 1940's cop scene like LA Confidential. Far from it. i don't care that it lacks todays technology of how to catch a criminal bc the movie isn't about that. i don't get how igloo posted that. that's why i watched it. i was hoping it was some great 1940's cop movie. it wasn't. Spoiler the movie may not have been real? it may have been all in patrick wilson's head as a writer. he may have thought the whole thing up as he keeps saying to himself "IF Clara wasn't alive?" The word "if" is huge there. It tells me this is what would have happened IF Clara died. I don't think she's dead at all. It's all in his head and that's why the typewriter is at the end typing THE END. I hate movies that do that crap. Never solve anything and leave it up to the watcher. Bad and lazy film making.
well he didnt do much as a cop. not like the 2 in LA Confidential. i saw it for free so no biggie. i already know the plot and ending for LIFE so that's out. i gotta find something good to watch...
USS Indianapolis-Men of Courage. Could've been really good. it was ok. if they could invest more money into it, or a better director, it could've been awesome. kind of lame direction and how it played out. some things they never went back to from the story like the Captain who took over in the life raft and swam to the island. what happened to them? just lazily filmed. and the real Captain did commit suicide but it was years after the event and he had health issues too. President Clinton pardoned him when he was in office as he was the only Captain who lost his ship to be court martialed. and u have guys hanging on the rafts. screw that. with the sharks around, my ass is sitting in one. C+
I'd give it a C+ also. It was better than what I was expecting also....... Watched Gorky Park last night.....Anybody remember that one? Good movie that I had completely forgotten about. Was made back in the early 80's,,,,,,, Edit: After the Pens game of course.....
