i don't hate her. i have too much hate for others i really hate! i did see her in a movie where she is ugly julia roberts 3 months ago and goes against her normal roles and go to the dark side for a role. i liked the movie a lot and her in it. that's what i wanna see out of her. the anti julia roberts.
Hail, Caesar ! OMG what a piece of crap! I swear the Cohen Brothers are miss, miss, miss, 1 hit and then 5 more misses! This was a movie within a movie and 3 subplots that had no business in the movie and it all sucked ass! If they stuck with 1 plot, it would've been fine. They add stuff that didn't need to be in there and made a mess of it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I WOULDN'T STEER YOU GUYS WRONG. AVOID!
I have to say, Hail, Caesar looked pretty bad. But unless you overall don't care for the Coen brothers, I think they have more hits than misses.
Coen brothers filmography 1984 Blood Simple 1986 Crimewave 1987 Raising Arizona 1990 Miller's Crossing 1991 Barton Fink 1 1994 The Hudsucker Proxy 1996 Fargo 1998 The Big Lebowski 1998 The Naked Man 2000 O Brother, Where Art Thou? 2001 The Man Who Wasn't There 2003 Intolerable Cruelty 2004 The Ladykillers 2006 Paris, je t'aime (Segment: ?Tuileries?) 2007 chacun son cin?ma (Segment: ?World Cinema?) 2007 No Country for Old Men 2008 Burn After Reading 2009 A Serious Man 2010 True Grit 2012 Gambit 2013 Inside Llewyn Davis 2014 Unbroken 2015 Bridge of Spies 2016 Hail, Caesar! i don't think so at all Axe. Some of these credits are for writing too as others directed their work. a lot of misses there.
And a LOT of really good movies in there. Later efforts (say, from 2003 on) are hit or miss. Of the ones I've seen, here are "hits": Blood Simple Raising Arizona Miller's Crossing Barton Fink Hudsucker Proxy Fargo Big Lebowski O Brother Where Art Thou No Country for Old Men Burn After Reading Inside Llewyn Davis
i don't know what constitutes a "hit" in your mind - a good movie or box office gate and that's fine. burn after reading was awful! almost brutally painful to watch, so it may be a hit at the box office, but that is a far stretch to me from being a good movie. oh well.
By "hit" I mean a good, solid movie - one that garnered positive reviews (and, hate to tell you, but "Burn After Reading" falls in that category. )
i hear ya. different strokes for you and axe too. why am i the villain here? i dislike her and most of her movies. im sure there's movies i like u guys hate. go dig lulz out of the hole he's been and mention my favorite movies the silence of the lambs and watch him blow a gasket! different strokes for all of us.
i like Brad Pitt, but hated him in the movie. I didn't like anyone in the movie. the whole thing sucked. I like Pitt movies-Seven, Ocean's 11, Sleepers, A River Runs Through it, Moneyball, Fury, Killing them Softly, Inglorious Bastards, The Assassination of Jesse James, and 12 Monkeys among others. I am a big fan of one of his movies most people never saw - Spy Game. Very underrated. And years ago I came across a young and non-famous Brad Pitt and Ricky Schoeder in some bad movie called "Across the Tracks." Now that takes the cake of badness. ok so since i ruffled the feathers of the Julia Roberts fan club on here, i watched her latest movie last night - Money Monster. Predictable story of greed and dishonesty among the power people of companies. Her role was solid and good. I don't think she did anything great in it and other actresses could've played the roll.
I'm not crazy about Julia Roberts either Fish. But Erin Brockovich was a great movie. She was decent in the film, Pretty Woman with Richard Gere. But that movie doesn't compare to Erin Brockovich. Those are the only two I liked her in. Pretty Woman doesn't come close to the Brockovich movie though......You have to watch the whole movie, not just the 1st couple minutes. It's one of the better movies out there that is a true story. It also stars Albert Finney, who I think is great and does a great job of acting also.......
Fair enough. There are still folks here who cling to the "Brad Pitt is a pretty boy, can't act" nonsense. And, for the record, I REALLY like Spy Game.
i knew you had some sense. haha. i doubt that the CIA treats a longtime employee like they did with Redford in the movie. He served for all those years and only 1 guy shakes his hand at the end? Not even Troy wishes him well or thanks him for his service, not the guys in the room?
London Has Fallen - predictable movie and concept but at least the action was very solid. G. Butler is like the Secret Service version of Rambo. I did like the chemistry between him and Eckhart (The President). Solid action flick. B+
Watched this as well the other night also would give it a B+. Would have liked to have seen a little more action from the British side but all in all a solid (but as cat said predictable) action film.
TERM LIFE- Some bad Vince Vaughn movie directed by Ralphie from A Christmas Story. Bad plot, bad acting, bad writing and bad hair from Vaughn. How does a movie like this get made? Unreal. MIDNIGHT SPECIAL-holy crap! Cool idea but bad execution of it. I think the script had 100 words in it. very subtle. Just no real explanation of what was going on in the movie. just thrown together nonsense. pu.
