saw parts of it. not a fan of horse face. saw Acts of Valor with real marines used instead of actors in the true tale of a rescue mission of a captured CIA operative. good story. great action.
Agree with Cat in that I'm not a big fan of Julia Roberts, but I thought "Erin Brockovich" was a very good movie.
igloo-i actually picked the wrong movie. i wanted to see via netflix the one with kevin bacon transporting a deceased soldier home and somehow i got this movie. it wasn't the worst i've seen and they didn't use real actors for the Marines, so it was okay. War movies are tough as the authenticity of the picture, the plot, the action and the acting. Way too many to list and have as favorites.
TRIPLE 999 - Big cast, good writing in the first half, semi-decent story and plot. the second half was thrown together in a blended and once again the ending was predictable and lame. still an above average cops and robber movie worth a look. B
Headhunters - a Danish film that they are remaking in Hollywood next year. Twisty as all hell and crazy! Could've better but really solid. Still good stuff. A- 33 about the 33 miners trapped underground for 3 mths. Good stuff. Amazing story. I would go nuts down there living on little to no food for that long! Grade A
Stalled-About a Janitor who gets stuck in the womens bathroom during a zombie outbreak. Yes its a comedy, no its not greatest of all time but it was good for a few laughs and as far as zombie spoofs go it wasn't bad.
Daddy's Home-typical predictable movie with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Some funny parts, but predictable as hell. B Ant-man. Much better than expected. Ending was predictable. Not a bad story at all. B+
I thought Ant-Man was a little slow as they had to show how he became that small and how he was learning to use his pwers. I think the 2nd one will be a lot better.....I'd put it at average....
saw the Infiltrator. Movie was slow and long and way too easy to infiltrate a major drug cartel like. needed more depth and meat and Spoiler there is no Pablo Escobar in it. . the movie gets a B- from me. Bryan Cranston was unreal and fantastic. He's becoming one of our best actors we have. A far cry from being Tim Whatley as Jerry Seinfeld's Dentist on Seinfeld! Cranston is better than a lot of top actors as he is getting top roles they aren't. he at his age still acts a ton too whereas the other don't.
Joe - with Nicholas Cage. ugh. Nicholas Cage should've been all I needed to read to know it was bad. It wasn't that bad, but bad enough to know better. Flawless-a very underrated older movie with Michael Caine and Demi Moore about a proposed diamond heist in 1960's London. Really solid. Good story and a twisting plot. I liked it a lot.
Rented "Midnight Special" from Redbox the other day and would not recommend it. Not much action and very slow. I'd give a 1 Star rating which is actually very bad......
saw Star Trek Beyond. it was really good. solid story and better than the others one that came out. however -- Spoiler how they defeated the enemy ships was really lame. way too easy to do and just lame. and it never said how Krull turned into the alien form you see when he was human all along. still good stuff. A-
It's more of an alien type movie with no aliens Fish........Also stars that guy (Joel Edgerton) , who was the FBI agent that was working with Johnny Depp (Bulger) in Black Mass. It's basically a movie with 3 people in it and 1 was a small kid. Had to be very low budget....... Edit: And your into Star Wars and Star Trek? basically alien type movies in themselves!
my bad igloo-i thought this was the one with bradley cooper. this is the one with the kid with special powers hunted by the government.
big into Star Wars. I have so many free movies passes, i figured, go see Star Trek. Nothing else to do on a Thursday night. I like the characters and the movie was better than the new SW movie by a lot!
