LULZ--Sorcerer on Netflix has a long wait. That means they don't have a lot of copies of it and it's in demand. it's on my list. thanks. So I assume the Sorcerer is better than the other movie?

a small movie i liked is the Bounty with Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson and unknowns Daniel Day-Lewis and Liam Neeson. Very good flick and Hopkins is brilliant as the evil Captain Bligh. That story is amazing. I found a trilogy of books on the whole thing I need to read too.

Interesting you mention Charles Laughton in Witness for the Prosecution, and in your next post you mention the movie "The Bounty" - Laughton played Captain Bligh in the 1935 version of Mutiny on the Bounty.

  3. cat, i won't say sorcerer is better than the wages of fear, but its ending is.

    ah.

i think laughton won his oscar for that? i saw parts of it. he's a great bligh and in the one cartoon with bugs bunny they use laughtons face as blighs. haha

They did quite a few Bugs Bunny cartoons with real-life people. Laughton, Peter Lorre, Edward G. Robinson, Humphrey Bogart...

axe--the bogart one when he wants a ham sandwich is one of my favs.

saw blue jasmine last night. blanchet will win her second oscar, but the movie is a mess. she is annoying as all hell. the best part os the cameo by andrew dice clay.

That's a classic. Still like Baseball Bugs.

LOVE Cate Blanchett, but sorry to hear the movie was disappointing. And hadn't heard about Andrew Dice Clay in YEARS! Used to be my favorite comedian -- saw him a number of times, have his autograph, got my picture taken with him years ago...

axe-he had a 1 hr special last year in chicago on tv. it was ok. not as funny as he used to be. somehow woody allen reached out to him for the part in the movie. he's trying to act, but his comedy routine and on-stage mannerisms show. i still like him.

for years my fantasy baseball name was the Gas House Gorillas from the Bugs episode when he plays a team like the Yankees by himself. That was the team's name. haha.

To me, Dice was only funny for a couple years -- seemed he had trouble developing new material. I know he's wanted to be an actor: he was in an episode of MASH before he hit it big, he was pretty good in the movie Casual Sex (Lea Thompson, Victoria Jackson), and he had a recurring role in one of my favorite TV crime dramas, "Crime Story."

ALWAYS laugh at the Gas-House Gorillas!

now no one recalls the MASH episode bc George Wendt of cheers is in it. haha. When I saw it recently, I was like that's Andrew Dice Clay. I saw it a million times bf and never picked up it was him. haa.

Yeah Dice grew cold, but the reruns are still great. His sold-out record at MSG is amazing.

Saw Dice live a couple times when he was on top of his game -- dude was flat-out hilarious.

my parents had HBO in the 80's so his HBO specials were great. Now people are as raunchy as he was, so it's not a big deal. He needs all new material now. Saw Louis C.K. on HBO last week. Still don't get all the hype about him...?

Don't really know Louis C.K.'s material all that much. I liked Mitch Hedberg (rip) and always thought Jim Norton (who used to be the Opie and Anthony Show a lot was hysterical.

saw captain phillips and all is lost.

all is lost is terrible and he's the worst captain ever.

captain phillips is really good. a little liberty with some things, but well made.

saw into the furnace--a so-so movie but great acting from affleck, woody harrelson and christian bale. wow.

12 yrs a slave - slow at times. graphic. didn't explain some things very well...but overall solid and good acting performances.

  18. Brazilian Bubble Butts #4

It is a late 1990's movie I believe. Not that great, alot of bouncing and some rather rough twerking happening in this one. Ladies seem Brazilian genuinely enough. Cleveage is the weak part of this movie....not much to behold but plenty of big cheeks if you are into that. The sex scenes are fairly pedestrian.

I'd give it a three on a scale of 1-10 with ten being awesome.

sc-now seems like an oscar worthy film. better than the crap im seeing lately.
