saw sin city 2 - wow. crazy plot. eva green is naked in half of it. violence was over the top. plotlines died a little too quickly. solid ass movie.

  2. clarification, please. do u mean "solid-ass movie" here, or was that another reference to eva green? :)

BOTH. The movie is not for everyone and i never read the graphic novels but did see the first movie.

i never seen a movie where someone loses an eye and lives to fight another day! haha

  4. wow, funny u should say that, cat. i had never seen machete before, so i watched it a few nights ago. michelle rodriguez gets shot in the eye.

5 minutes later, she's back with an eyepatch. in terms of time in the movie, i think it was the next day.

having just watched planet terror a week or so ago, i've decided - the next time i see "directed by richard rodriguez", i'll run away screaming. he's like tarantino's stupid brother or something.

I'll watch it just to see Rosario Dawson.

Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York...?

Saw (again) "The Talented Mr. Ripley" last night. VERY good movie.

dawson is not naked in the movie. haha

ripley is a great movie. the scene where g. paltrow is being pulled away screaming and the guy said it's not tom, it's not tom. she knew it was him and the guy, i forget who he is, blows it off. a small loophole there.

there is a series of books on ripley and the other movie is set years later with john malkovich as an older, wealthier ripley.

to me it would be too hard to keep trying to be dickie greenleaf with the banks and photographs.

i am still shocked at how fast jude law turns on him. he snaps like a postal worker and goes off till ripley hits him with the boat oar.

matt damon almost died for the weight loss for the movie. due to his weight loss for another movie yrs earlier - courage under fire, his liver and kidneys took a hit. well he lost more weight to play ripley and got very sick and the doctors said he could never lose that much weight again for a role. damon was down to 130 pounds to play ripley.

Not sure what "loophole" you're getting at...???

I know there are a number of other books about Ripley - I think they started coming out in 1950s.

that the dead bodies and facts were adding up, dickie was missing, tom was a liar about his past, he was dirt poor and he doesn't know anything about dickie's disappearance. and this guy, a friend of the father's automatically knows whats going on and says "it's not tom, it's not tom." ??

paltrow's character dated dickie. she knew him longer than tom did and yet this guy says tom is right and he didn't do it? i think paltrow would know above anyone if tom did it or not. he lied about everything and was sneaky doing it. he would be the first guy i look at as a suspect.

Because the father knew that Dickie had a violent past.

but did the father tell this guy - phillip baker hall about it? how does he show up and automatically assumes Tom is innocent?

Paltrow's character was there the entire time since Tom arrived. Freddy is dead. Dickie is now missing. Money is being spent. She knows something is going on and since Tom arrived - everything has gone down hill. Plus she knows the "note" Dickie left her is total b.s..

  13. AxeMurderer Legend Cowboys

Of course he did - hence the next to last scene, when Hall is telling Ripley how the father just wants this to go away and stay hush-hush.

Right...which is why she was yelling "I know it's you." But the father - and P.I. - knowing Dickie's background, believe otherwise.

if that was my kid, i would want better proof than his background. seems like they threw up their hands and said "ok, cool with us." haha

indiana jones and the temple of doom....

next time it's on hit the menu or guide and it should say "this raiders prequel." that's how i know it's a prequel. i never knew before. not the same as the first movie. the third movie was like the first and better than doom.

the 4th movie sucked. and lucas wanted to make it in 1993 or 94 and have the title say something like the "men from mars" in it. spielberg and ford said "no freaking way." to me the 4th movie isn't far off.

22 jump street was as bad as i thought....

    ugh...

  19. wait, what? a bad movie based on a bad TV show???

    geez, what were the chances?

  20. Catfish Guest

lulz - the first one was somehow rated 4 stars so when you see it on tv and hut menu or guide it's a 4 star movie. not many movies get that distinction so i was shocked the first one was 4 stars. i saw the sequal and it huffed ass.
