Crazy shit, I went to Cuba in 2005 and bought a couple of bottles of rum and stored them away. I was sipping some of it these last couple of days. It might as well be from some carribean shipwreck in the 1700s lol.
RICHARD JEWELL -- very, very good. Sad to see what the press and FBI did to this guy. Clint does a great job retelling the story. He could've had a little more about the real bomber and the settlements the guy got from several media outlets who pointed to him as the bomber. Still a solid movie and great acting from the guy who was Jewell, Kathy Bates and Sam Rockwell as his friend and attorney. Tonight - seeing Star Wars - the Rise of Skywalker! Yes, I'm a big SW fan since 1977. No, I won't be in any costume tonight.
Star Wars= the Rise of Skywalker. There were 2 younger girls sitting next to me and i swear the one girl was in tears. she was so excited. she shook her hands at key scenes and had her knees on her chair and she was holding them. i think she cried at the end. haha. Spoiler movie is a mess. a lot of it doesn't make sense or follows the the story line of the other 2 movies or return of the jedi. there's a lot going on in the movie but a lot of it is not needed. way too much stuff going on and it doesn't make any sense. the reviews are dead on. it's a bad movie and a bad ending to the saga. The whole plot in this movie of the Emperor makes 0 sense. He died in the ROTJ twice really. He did being burnt to death in the shaft and when the DS2 exploded. Now he's back and hooked on some machine. Convenient to say the least. Now Ren wants to destroy him ? Why? They should be together, not apart. Whatever. it doesn't matter bc episodes 7 and 8 sucked as well. The fans were right, instead of letting some Disney writer create these new stories for 7, 8 and 9, they should've used the Grand Admiral Thrawn trilogy books by Tim Zahn, which Lucas endorsed. They had a great plot, great characters and were already written. The fans wanted this or from another book cannon arc. Not something new form the desks at Disney This new characters have very little background and are so bland. Finn? Rey? Poe? Ren? OMG - they couldn't think of any better names than that? They really do nothing in all 3 movies. Because Carrie Fisher died, they used old footage of her for this movie, which was a mistake. it cleared showed and it looked horrible. Her old footage had no real place in this movie. it looked out of place. They wasted all of the history of Luke Skywalker too. It was idiotic what they did with his character. It's like movies 4, 5, and 6 didn't matter. B- bc it's better than the last 2. Overall F+ bc it's a hot mess all over the place. oh 2 guys down front were in robes and had light sabers. haha.
No real spoilers, I think. FA - Was okay. It was a semi reboot but then they had to see where it went from there. LJ- Ruined any chance of the trilogy being good and put the last movie in a tough corner. Had more BS than any other movie. RoS - I think a great job was done to make the movie fun and to fix and use what the 2nd movie gave them to work with. (Oh there was BS, 2 [or 2.5] separate force things mainly, one that was at least kinda explained if meh) Many people won't be happy with any Star Wars movie and never will be even though the original trilogy had as many if not more issues than some of the newer ones. RoS was an excellent end to a crappy trilogy and possibly half-decent ending to the 9-movie saga. Luke was definitely wasted.
To be honest, for me to walk out of a movie these days and be totally blown away? I would put the odds at 5%.
it's hard for me to like a movie because most endings ruin the movie and suck, so i hate it. the last movie i walked out of blown away was Saving Private Ryan. The opening 40 min was just incredible film making and my Dad was a medic in the Battle of the Bulge, so it was like seeing him there. Damn frightening.
the geeky fans who know everything there is about everything SW ruin it bc they want so much from the books no one else reads brought into the movies. im a big fan, but not a canon arc fan, so the movies are fine, but should've and could've been a lot better. they were a huge letdown.
It all changed for me after the sopranos and breaking bad. Yeah, a continous storyline week after week, year after year with powerful writing, all free on tv. Yeah, pretty hard to get my attention and be blown away anymore in 100 minutes.
sopranos season with the gay mobster was terrible. the finale and david chase's asshole comments about and the FU to fans really ruined the Sopranos for me.
It wasn't just the sopranos, it was the office, ray donavon, that other show that takes place in the 60s about sales. There were a few from HBO that were game changers and made people decide to rather stay in than go out to the movies.
Not even close. Try the MASH finale was the most watched tv show until a SB past it. It still ranks 1 or 2 for a television show non-sports. I think the Seinfeld finale is the other.
he's been telling them that for years. and he says Tony dies in the end. the opening of the door was not Meadow and was a hitman and the fade to black was Tony dying.
