I'd disagree as it feels below average to me but you always like scouting those UDFA guys extensively.
Since I have the day off tomorrow, and before UDFA starts, I’m going to try to find tape on a few guys the Colts brought to their regional combine. It means they at least had a close look at them. Random oddity about the Colts, though our drafts of the last 8-10 years have been very hit-and-miss, we have had decent success finding some quality players as UDFAs.
For the first time ever, I haven't made a single trade in a full mock. Rediiis made an offer I would have accepted in a heartbeat, but something odd happened and the PM didn't hit my inbox until 25 minutes after I had made the pick. Bummer for me on that one. I also came close to making RT a 3 pick for 4 player offer in the sixth (the two players he shopped plus two practice squad caliber guys - I bet you can guess which two) but decided to stick it out instead and make the three picks.
Ha. Ya. And I didn't try to get Mr. Irrelevant either. LOL. Packers at Midnight is the only pick I have left that could trade back to that anyways. lol. The other 2 are after the first Atlanta pick.
It's admittedly getting weaker, as guys I would consider top UDFA targets have been getting drafted from the 5th round onward.
I don't think either of us can afford to lose the IQ points going through another "trade negotiation" like we did in the GMO.
Ha. Well you are the only guy I'd be open to trading with if I traded back. The Pack pick at midnight for your 2 picks.
Tennessee Titans draft so far: 1(25): Sam Hubbard, EDGE, Ohio St. 2(25): Uchenna Nwosu, ILB, USC 3(15): Rasheem Green, 3-4 DE, USC 5(30): Marcus Allen, SS, Penn St. 6(4): Kendrick Norton, NT, Miami 6(30): Cole Madison, iOL, Wash St. 7(3): Skyler Phillips, iOL, Idaho St. 7(31): TBD 7(34): TBD Overall I'm pretty happy with how my draft went. My first three picks I have pretty high hopes that they'll become starters. As for my remaining picks I snatched up guys that I felt pretty good about, and hope that I got some solid depth and maybe even snuck out another starter.
Best picks were the first two, Conklin (great value), and Averett (he should be in press all day) Best trade, probably Heuerman, because he fits perfectly with how you want to use him
lol! well played...It was a risk worth taking at this point in my estimation. Former four star with explosive athletic traits as his 38" vert at the Combine would indicate...
Perfect example. I see Crabtree as 2+ years away from challenging for a starting job - likely at RG. (No shame in that - Harvey Dahl was on SF's practice squad for a third season when the Falcons plucked him in 2007. Ben Garland is now a 30-year old RFA.) I'd be happy to have him in Atlanta as a UDFA. But with this year's thin OL class he gets drafted.
