I think it means all teams in that conference get to pick one player in that hour first come first serve.
Yep. Definitely nap time for this old man. On the plus side, a guy from the muppet client wants to have a meeting with me soon to discuss future plans. This is when I gently push them to move on without me when the contract expires in June. Adios, mofos.
That you don't care. But in case you were unavailable you can post them later. We fill them in ourselves afterwards only for the draft value challenge.
Anyone still have someone with a 5th round grade or higher still on their board? Anyone I had left went in the 6th. I find this draft to be shallow overall. Actually I've got 1 RB and 1 QB but I won't be drafting either. I've still got a few 6th rounders and some 7th. But I consider my 7th round grade guys to just be guys I kinda like, intriguing projects or players I think deserve to be drafted but not I'm not really excited about drafting. There is a real difference in my 6th and 7th round grades. I'm hoping I get one of my 6th rounders with my last pick for each team but we'll see.
Wrong. If I didn't care I wouldn't still be taking part, sitting around waiting to put in a 7th round pick I had no idea about. Nice attitude though Joe. My point was I would literally be pulling names out of a hat, kinda thought i'd made that clear. Sorry my research doesn't extend to the 250th prospect this year. I was the guy that stepped in at the last minute when no one else on the Bears board could do it. Although in their defence, you did make the request on our board like two days before this started sooooo...... Also, I have no idea what you're talking about re the draft value challenge.
I think we are both misinterpreting each other. I thought maybe you were busy for UDFA tomorrow and didn't care if you missed it (some don't). I definitely appreciate you putting your time on here and how you came in last minute. One thing I'd like to clarify though, I send PMs out to people for invitations and the Bears one never got resolved so I resorted to posting straight to the board.
So we use our results here as a baseline for whether we think players in the draft in each round will be drafted higher, lower, or close to where we predicted. It is completely separate from the mock and is open to anyone.
That's fine, happy to take your word for it. For my part, when I heard the trouble people were going to putting this thing together I thought an actual Bears fan could at least come over and represent the team properly. For the record this is the first live mock draft ive taken part in, and frankly ive found it pretty insane(not necessarily in a bad way). Not only has it lasted nearly a week(!), people have been making trades involving actual players. Other than to make the whole thing more realistic I'm really not sure what the point of that is. Someone offered me a player for a draft pick straight up. I honestly don't understand why I would be expected to accept such a move when I'm here to pick from players coming out of college in a simulation of the upcoming draft, but anyway I politely declined. I'm sure I've missed part of the point with this whole thing, its all good. Anyway, I want to thank LAOJoe and RTTRUTH for running this draft, it clearly seems one hell of a lot of work. It boggles my mind how you guys even keep on top of it all. But the 7th round will be my last pick. Cheers.
Ok, that's good. I don't like not finishing something ive started so my part will end with the draft as I had originally intended. Hope the UDFA part goes well for y'all though. Cheers
I used to trade players more before but I came into this one not thinking of trading to keep it more realistic. That is unless a guy is definitely on the block and could be traded at or before the draft. I never shopped Darby but I would have traded him for a good offer and I did. And thanks. I'm glad you had fun. We had an alternative but we were hoping for an actual Bears fan.
I was scouring the board to see whats available and if it would make sense to pull the trigger on that target matching the criteria you mentioned, but mums the word or i'll get sniped, lol. Not particularly the deepest draft in my opinion, especially in a couple key areas that the Vikings were targeting. Some huge drop offs in talent/skill also unless your privy to some of the more isolated schools with a diamond in the rough type.

I haven't updated my board yet for the end of the 6th round, but that's generally the case for me too. It's why I went with a safety in the 6th instead of a linebacker - as a system-specific fit, I considered him a better LB pick than the actual LBs still on the board. And we've all talked about how thin the OL class was this year. Sure, there were a few true first round talents, a few true second rounders, etc. But not as many as other years, so if you absolutely had to take one in the 3rd or 4th round it was probably a bit of a reach. On the other hand, once you hit the UDFA level there's a bumper crop of prime practice squad candidates who could develop into solid starters a few years down the road. It's a better than average group at the "eighth round" level.
Landing the experienced players to go along with the bumper crop of rookies really helps. I like it. Favorite picks = Hall in the 5th is a serious sleeper (Falcons are scouting him heavily, but I already had two DTs so I passed him by in the 4th to focus on other needs). Tyler Conklin at 6.43 is a steal. Least favorite = Kylie Fitts will add solid depth to your IR list.
