I love this year's class at the UDFA level. Would hate to be forced into taking one with a day two pick though. Been a while since we've seen a tackle class or an o-line class as a whole that is this weak. Makes me happy that my Falcons traded for Ty Sambreilo last year (giving up this year's 5th rounder) and signed Brandon Fusco as a relatively cheap free agent this year. Sambreilo won't exactly rock the world, but he'll be a much better swing tackle for us this year than anyone we could have drafted with the 5th round pick that we used to get him.
I don't think this years class is as weak as we're saying here. It's weak at the top, so maybe that's what you're driving at. It's just that there don't appear to be more than 3 immediate starters outside, there's lots of developmental guys with a chance to be good in 1-2 years. And the guard class has some quality to it. I guess as a group, top to bottom, the class is about average. I personally think the most intriguing part of this class is the day 2 tackles. It will take a year or so to find out if much good comes from it, but teams will try.
I think it's because on tape he's still an unfinished product, and maybe more importantly a bit of a tweener. He is a great developmental guy. I think 3rd round might be exactly where he goes.
I am going to guess he goes right in the middle of the 2nd round. There is a premium on edge rushers and this draft is very shallow so I have seen him or your other flavour of the day going in the first round. As for where he deserves to go... well this may be his floor IMO.
