I still see Jones as a candidate to slide some. Guice out and Michel into the first is interesting, and it's something that I have entertained all week in finishing up my mock.
I think a lot of mainstream people would. Remember, it was only about 4 months ago that Chubb was still pretty much universally considered the better back in Georgia.
I can easily see Guice and Michel both going in the first or just outside it with teams like the Browns, Giants and Colts there with multiple picks. I think Jones is going to slide a bit.
The scenario I keep coming back to for Cleveland is - 1. Sam Darnold 4. Bradley Chubb (no trade develops) 33. Sony Michel 35. Bryan O'Neill
Pretty much what I'm thinking is the most likely to happen without a trade(and possibly with) RB &OT to start the 2nd.
If I was the Browns, I would take a QB and trade down the 4th and fleece a QB needy team. After an 0-16 year, they will not win the AFC.
I've had a trade locked in there for my PRP mock all week, but I just redressed the whole damn thing and moved that out. I'm starting to lean towards Indy being the most likely team to trade down.
After watching more film, there are not many tier 1 DE's or LB's. Wonder if anyone would trade up for Chubb/Edmonds/Smith?
I was thinking on that some early on, but I think the board is going to fall in a manner that probably keeps this from happening. I see all three of those players off the board in the first 11 picks, but with 4 quarterbacks also going in that top 11 it makes it difficult for someone to make a small move up to get a player. The most likely candidates would be the Buccs swapping with the Broncos for a falling Barkley or Miami sliding up for a player like Roquan. Right now, I think the Dolphins are making a small move up for a quarterback and Tampa Bay will get blocked out (Barkley's gone) and end up with a nice consolation prize in Quenton Nelson. The other trade I have in the top 11 is Buffalo moving up to #6.
NFL scouting source is like asking my nieces kid. What do want to be when you grow up? A princess Two years later... What do want to be when you grow up? Working at McDonalds
That's pretty good...I like the way this one is going. Honestly, I'd be surprised if the Browns don't move around a bit. Maybe not with #1 and #4, though that wouldn't surprise me. I do think we're more likely to see movement with the picks at top of second. And I can see scenarios where we move up or down... Much depends on how those first three picks go, but if a team wants to overpay for a move up to get a QB, Dorsey would be foolish not to listen. I'm sure there is a price...I personally would hate to see them pass on an opportunity for Barkley or Chubb at #4. It's an incredibly rare thing to have a shot at your top QB prospect on the board AND your top non-QB on the board. Take the elite player. We need the "gold jacket" pick.
The other likely possibilities for Cleveland would be DT and CB...That's been a major focus with the player visits anyway. Lots of scenarios make sense for Cleveland, and I don't expect Dorsey to show his hand, so we still got a few more days to go over this. lol! I think the Browns do like both Denzel Ward and Maurice Hurst a lot. If we do move down with one of those top two picks, that's a couple likely targets IMO. JFTR- I still wouldn't rule out the possibility of Cleveland just taking Ward at #4....
Hurst value is hard to pin down, but I think Ward may go as high as #5 to the Broncos. He fits what they do schematically on defense and it's a slightly bigger need than what some think. I might agree with you that they would take him there at #4, but if Chubb is on the board then I think that will be the pick. I agree with all of this. I would rather them take the pick than trade it out for a watered down price, which would be a real possibility considering both Denver and Indy are looking to move down. It all depends on whether or not anyone believes the Broncos will take a quarterback at #5. That's why I think the bidding for the #6 pick may decide how the board falls. If the Giants go Barkley and the Jets take Rosen (or Darnold) I think it may cool the bidding some on that #4 pick.
That's possible, but the teams that are on the board after 7 are in need for defensive help and if we're still talking about Smith and Edmonds the asking price may be too much.
