Right, last year it was the NFC South, and we had British tight end prospect Alex Gray as our 11th player. The international guys are basically just foreign exchange students. They can't be released from the practice squad, can't be signed to the regular roster, and can't be signed away by any other team. They're simply an extra member of the practice squad, soaking in as much NFL experience as they can. But my question was whether the Lions really will sign their own international guy or whether he'll simply be assigned to them by the league. I don't know how it was done last year, but I know that when the league did it back in the days of NFL-E, the players were simply assigned to the teams. The Falcons had German tight end Klaus "The Hulk" Alinen one year and Japanese wide receiver Noriaki Kinoshita (one of my absolute favorite NFL-E players) another year.
I don't know if the Lions would be interested, I know the Falcons have some interest. I'd personally have interest in signing him, having him for a training camp, preseason, and more of a chance he sticks to my PS. From what I'm aware teams can have 2 additional players that are international players. I know the Vikings drafted Moritz Boehringer in the 6th round a couple of years ago. Pretty sure every team has international players, I know the Lions have taken advantage of that from when the rule was changed.
So weird that the clock on the site said 5:29 when hovering over but apparently it's 2 minutes later on Matt's. I'll bust your balls as much as I feel like it because if I don't you'll have your power get to your head.
