That could have sucked for me. If you remember, that 3rd for the Rams was the Saints'.

Forgot about that. But yeah, that would stick in your craw...so to speak

Remember for the two Rams picks 10 spots apart I said I had a 5 man list? Trust me, Surratt was on there. Lucky for the Saints then I let the fact that their D was already top 5 last year, plus their lack of serious interviews at LB push me towards offense with both picks.

    That 5 man list:
    Josh Myers - C
    Chase Surratt - LB
    Anthony Schwartz - WR
    Defender
    Defender

2 offensive guys. Both won out. Rams actually interviewed Schwartz. Center just seems it could use competition at least.

Browning to Buffalo seems like a great fit....I like where you got Rousseau for Philly. I was making plans to trade up for an EDGE, and that pick kind of forced some urgency into my situation.

I considered taking Browning or an Edge at 2(29) but Dan wanted me to try and trade down early and I couldn't in the 1st. Worked out. That pick became Browning at 3(13), who was the pick at 2(29) and the Edge with Patrick Jones at 4(3). Jones was my backup pick at 3(13).
edit: I traded up with 4(13) and a 6th but it was a later 6th than I got from the 2(29) trade so same shit (better even).

Rousseau seemed like a luxury but it's one the Eagles would love. I'm just glad I was able to still get OT and CB taken care of with guys I like. Took Carman and Williams in the GMO as well.

Justin Fields just confirmed that he is an epileptic. Does that have any bearing on his draft stock?

  13. RTTRUTH Legend Manager Colts

Not too likely. Quick question you ask the OSU staff. Has it ever prevented him from playing in a game or being ready for a game? If the answer is no, then probably not.

I'm not familiar enough with management of epilepsy to know the specifics or to pretend I am a doctor or anything but I am pretty sure contact sports haven't really shown to be a trigger for seizures.

But I don't know if it just becomes a general risk factor that teams now take into account that affects their draft strategy at the QB spot.

His family history suggests that as he ages it becomes a nonfactor, starting in their 20s.

I’ve seen people have seizures on the field after a nasty crack down block before. But I don’t know if there was anything else that could have added to it or it was all the hit to the head.

As a GM, you look at the track record... Justin Fields has never missed a game with the Buckeyes and takes great care of himself. I dont see any cause for concern or 'red flags' in this area of his health.

Key word here is management. He isnt 'suffering' from epilepsy, but managing it, as it turns out, pretty well.

*not a doctor, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn, once... stole their ice maker too!*

So far in this Draft, ive been able to pick my targets pretty freely. Only a couple times between Tampa Bay and Minnesota have I had to take a #2 on my list as the first choice was previously picked. I think this is a talented group we are dealing with and most importantly, its deep also. Depth at key positions is crucial in a Draft IMO, as well as on a particular team.

  19. TopDawg Legend

That "targeting" shot he took in the Clemson game about gave me seizures....He missed one play and then fired a TD pass on the next one. I think he'll be ok, and doubt this drops his draft stock any.

What makes the depth so surprising is that in theory, this year should have been a weaker draft class since no one lost eligibility.
