I’m sure that the Browns aren’t. Why in the world would you pass on Mahomes? I wanted the Steelers to do what KC did and trade up with some stupid team and get him. Of course we would have missed out on one of my favorite players in Watt.
Every organization has a different board. Do you think every team’s board has Burrow and/or Young in their top 2. I promise you Burrow isn’t in the Chiefs top 10

He’s in their top ten, If they had the pick to draft him they would fleece someone for much draft capital. Teams rate the top 100 players and I guarantee you every team has Burrows and Young in their top ten. After 100 players have been been pretty much depleted teams have a list for the rest of the 250-80 players to be picked and UFAed good teams try to get players that are still in their top 100 as long as they are there, bad teams start reaching for the proverbial baby Ruth bar floating on the top of the swimming pool. In the last twenty years the Steelers have probably hit paydirt more often than any other team in rd one even though they have only had one pick slotted in the top half of the draft.
Yes I’m a fucking idiot, but at least I’m not a browns fan. At least I got one thing right in my life I love them all
The longer I'm watching football the more I wonder if it's less about the players and more about the front office and coaching staff around the players. (Referring to your Steelers "HIT" percentage) Le'Veon Bell in PIT - Top 3 RB Le'Veon Bell with Adam Gase and NYJ - Lucky if he's top 15 Still notably under 30. Alex Smith for 6 years with different coaches - average at best Alex Smith with Jim Harbaugh - Suddenly flirts with being a top 12 QB Some coaches just have no idea how to mesh gameplans with players strengths and weaknesses
T.Y.'s school. Alright! Maybe you found yourself a stud. He's got a name to set himself apart already
LOL at this point my picks are all priority UDFA's. He is a WR to DB convert so he has athleticism but the guy has no idea what he is doing out there yet. Hoping he's a "stash on the practice squad and maybe become a player down the line" type guy.
All times are posted for UDFA. We're doing the first round tonight, starting about an hour after the draft is scheduled to finish. Second round starts tomorrow morning.
YES! It's a combination of factors - among them coordination between the front office / scouts and the coaching staff and the ability of the coaches to work with what they have. A critical factor with struggling franchises is that when you clean house on the coaching staff, the new coaches bring in new systems and want "their" players. The front office had spent the last few years hand-picking guys for the old staff, and a lot of those draft picks end up going down the drain. It doesn't even have to be a change in head coach - coordinators or position coaches will have their desired profiles.
