I'd argue that it was because the tier differences make a major difference.

I can’t tell you anything more than what I have posted in that thread at the moment. I need to finish up the math first.

@matthewwillson29 brought up Strnad in a discussion about LBs earlier today so I have those and the TE class set up to close next.

I’ll put safeties and cornerbacks up after that and close it out with the OL, DL and EDGE. I need to get all of it wrapped up by Monday night so I can get my Projection/Reflection/Perfection mock out as soon as possible.

It’s just an algorithm that makes it so that I can score individual traits, modify that number with a multiplier and create a total.

It’s basically a way to turn my opinion of a players ease of transition from a college athlete to a pro into a number. I wanted a method to have a historical archive that I could compare from year to year.

As far as I know, I’m the only person online that has a listing of every score and rank they’ve ever done listed in one spot for immediate comparison.

    Truths Top Safeties:

    1) Antoine Winfield Jr.

    2) Grant Delpit

    3) Xavier McKinney

    4) Jeremy Chinn

    5) Terrell Burgess

    6) Kyle Dugger

    7) J.R. Reed

probably the thing that will jump out at many of you first is the lack of Ashtyn Davis. What can I say, I’ve already documented I had a tough time seeing what he was doing on tape Because he started so deep on many plays. And yet miraculously I feel like what I mostly saw was a box safety, which in today’s NFL is a bit of an insult. He would probably be number eight on my list, but I just couldn’t make a bigger commitment.
The other funny thing behind The scenes in my rankings is how I decided between Delpit and McKinney. They are very close, but in the end I feel like Delpit has the bigger upside, whereas McKinney is the safer prospect. So depending on what your goal is, I take either one over the other based on team needs or desires.

Is your initial pass stats based? I struggle to come up with a system that quantifies "I really f-ing like this guy" or "he has some traits that might be worth developing." Because of that I don't really know how to do a year to year comparison. I started watching basically only O-line and QB's. And frankly I don't have a way to draw up if say I liked Rosen better as a prospect (whoops) than Haskins or Tua. I have just kind of ranked the guys I watched in an order for this class.

It really depends on what your goal is. If you’re looking to create a numeral to rank yearly then I can give you a basic rundown of how I formulate my numbers.

But if you’re looking to rank them anecdotally, based strictly on opinion/interpretation, then all you really need to do is chart them yearly and keep the same chart to update every year.

I went back a couple pages...I think maybe Tampa Bay is OTC.

The funny thing is you have the worst athlete of the bunch as your #1...

You think? His 4.45 40 and 1.52 10Yd split don’t necessarily agree with you.
Bloodlines don’t hurt. 7 INTs don’t hurt. If anything his injuries concern me more.

If I could do the chant I would: OVER-RATED....bump bump, bum bum bum, OVER-RATED.

The thing I like about Winfield is that all he does is his job and he does it well. He’s not flashy by any means. He clocks in, gives you max effort for 60 minutes, and then clocks out after leaving everything on the field.

I mean his spot is debatable. There’s certainly no Derwin James this year or even Jamal Adams. So then it becomes a matter of flavor, or confidence in specific traits.

Exactly. I'm not saying he's a bad player...He's just not what some are saying, IMO.
