Ok, had a lot of offers for this pick but I'm going to stand and make a selection - The Los Angeles Rams select: Ross Blacklock, DL - TCU
If that is the plan with Connor being a Pittsburgh boy, there might be riots in Pittsburgh if they did this.
No, everyone loves Conner and his story, but he hasn’t had one healthy season since joining the league. All Steelers fans want a RB who will be there when we need them.
The Steelers fans in Pittsburgh are very local loyal to a fault. If you are their own, they will rally around you. It happened with Neil Walker and the Pirates. Local steelers fans screamed about not getting Pat Mac when he was with the colts. They eat that crap up.
I have listened to a lot of Steelers commentary and no one wants him gone in reality, but everyone wants SB victories a lot more than hanging on to an injury riddled RB
I live it, I might be a Bengals fan but I live around Pittsburgh and work in Pittsburgh. I hear the crap that you aren't going to hear on Pittsburgh sports radio, on trib radio, or in the newspaper. Even on a message board. It is real, on the ground, talk.
Conner is absolutely loved in Pittsburgh however he has a few things working against him. He has had health issues since arriving to Pittsburgh. He’s also not elite in any aspect other than working his ass off. You don’t beat cancer by not working your tail off. He has pretty damn good vision, but is unable to create a whole lot on his own.
Eagles still listening to offers. Got 3 in but I'm thinking of picking. I have contacted @KilkennyDan who is on deck and will speed up a decision if he checks in.
As for unable to create on his own. His o-line blocked nothing last season. So yeah there was that. Villa is a beast who just got beat because he is a big dude against outside speed. And Pouncey showed he isn't a young spring chick anymore. Injuries have taken a toll on him.
You’re not entirely wrong. He did a lot of great things in 2018 but was hurt in the stretch run when they needed him the most. Teams also had very little film on him to hep break down his game.
Nobody ran well last. I think they were 30th or 31st in rushing. Also the loss of Munchak to Denver did not help matters either.
Everyone just shut down the run and dared Rudolph to throw the ball. Essentially Connor was hurt because he just got gang banged in the back field. 2018 was mostly a balanced offense, yes the injury sucked in timing, but it was proof what he could be. The problem with Taylor is when he played the top pro-style defense, he went quiet. Completely quiet. If he would have had a 100 yard day against Ohio State when it mattered, he would be a 1st round grade and possibly top 20 running back.
Some of that was because no one would ever confuse the Badger's offense with Air Coryell. The better defenses they played could just tee off on Taylor (which could account for his fumble rate) and take their chances against the passing game. And he still won the NCAA rushing title.
Well we had the updates from many GM's, but I couldn't help wondering what the weather is like in Portugal? @KilkennyDan btw Dan, you are on deck with the Bills.
Ya I'm just waiting on him. I got 2 pretty good offers but the drop is a bit much. They are nice since I don't have a 3rd anymore but I am likely taking my guy.
