The Kansas City Chiefs sign: CB - Jordan Wyatt, S.M.U. RB - Darwin Thompson, Utah State The Arizona Cardinals sign: EDGE - Anree Saint-Amour, Georgia Tech S - Zedrick Woods, Mississippi
Tim, that Wyatt is a bit of a turnover machine hey? I came across him late. Would be cool if someone takes a flier on him in 6th or 7th. Like both those new Chiefs
I didn't forget about you, TD. I'm finishing up some work here for my last mock and prepping some pages but I'll get you my thoughts and some scores on those guys before the draft.
Almost forgot, I got that page up. The link is in blue under the 2019 section on the draft page - https://live4sportnetwork.com/nfl-draft-home/
@TopDawg , some quick takes and rough scores... Stephen Denmark - 320-40 (I didn't have time for full profiles) I'm seeing a player that would likely need to play safety (FS) in the NFL. He has range, height, wingspan and good hops to take away the seam and cover ground outside the hashes. Extremely technique raw and the refs seem to let him get away with a ton of inappropriate hand and body work for some unknown reason. That stuff can be cleaned up but it reflects how far away he really is. Upside athletic player but extremely raw. I think the best case can be made for him to become the kind of safety that takes away the vertical routes from the athletic, big frame tight ends of the league. Kaden Ellis - 340-360 His lateral movement ability is pretty obvious, but so is his lack of burst on anything that he is disinterested in. Unfortunately, that seems to be any play that he has to fight through a block to get to the quarterback. If he has a clean lane he seems to have more burst, so it might be a question of effort. Although, it could be a question of explosive strength in both the lower and upper body. I'm not seeing enough tenacity or impact to warrant a draft selection. Joe Lowery - 360-380 This one got my attention a little more than the other two when I first dug into it but ultimately I came away with the impression that he probably will get a shot to make a roster but his odds are long. He's got some solid technique in the run game but he has some issues in pass protection that the Bobcats offense helped to hide (along with the players he was facing). I'd say he can move inside to make the leap up in talent but how much athleticism does he really possess? He's worth a flier for a team in need of depth but expectations should be minimal. If I had to choose one of the three, I think I like Denmark to have a chance to develop into a situational player because of his potential to play a role on special teams early on in some capacity.
Let's see how I did in comparison to the real thing: Drafted Greedy Williams 1st round, got actually picked in the 2nd Greg Little 2nd round, actually picked in 2nd round Elgton Jenkins 2nd round, actually picked in 2nd round Foster Moreau 4th round, actually picked in 4th round Anthony Johnson 4th round, actually picked undrafted (OUCH) Justice Hill 5th round, actually picked in 4th round Porter Gustin 5th round, actually picked undrafted (sigh) Will Harris 5th round, actually picked 3rd round Saivion Smith 6th round, actually picked undrafted Nick Fitzgerald 7th round, actually picked undrafted How about you guys?
Roughly the same. Had some good picks, some fallers too. I killed the Colts draft though. Got 4 guys for them actually selected in the top 33. I only had one 1st. And took a safety late 6th that the real team traded two 4ths to move up for. Skins was up and down. I may have failed the Bears
BROWNS I took John Abram at 2.16, he went rd 1 Mack Wilson 2.21, he went 4th rd Darrell Henderson at 3.37, went early 3rd rd Trysten Hill at 4.24, went 2nd round Bobby Evans at 5.13, went 3rd rd Took J. Brown at 6.2, went in 7th Joe Lowery at 7.24, went undrafted PANTHERS Andre Dillard rd 1, went in rd 1 Rock Ya Sin rd 2, went in rd 2 Riley Ridley in 3rd, went in 4th Joe Jackson late 3rd, went in 5th Jaquon Johnson in 4th, went in 6th Ben Powers in 5th, went in 4th Marvell Tell in 6th, went in 4th Easton Stick in 7th, went in 5th
Two of the three went to Chicago. They drafted Denmark late and signed Joe Lowery as UDFA.....Kaden Ellis was drafted by the Saints, which was cool because I signed him to the Saints in UDFA rounds of the mock...
Nailed it: 1.32 N’Keal Harry, went 1.32 About right: 2.24 Deebo Samuel, went 2.04 3.33 Josh Oliver, went 3.05 5.25 Armon Watts, went 6.17 7.32 Matt Sokol, undrafted 7.38 Jacob Dolegala, undrafted Reaches: 2.26 Charles Omenihu, went 5.23 4.17 Delvon Randall, undrafted 5.17 Devine Ozigbo, undrafted 6.32 Anthony Ratliff-Williams, undrafted Steals: 7.25 Cody Barton, went 3.24 UDFA Hjalte Froholdt, drafted (by Pats) in 4th UDFA Jordan Miller, drafted in 5th All in all not a dreadful performance
Not necessarily. Its not so bad considering how far down the board the Patriots were, but in my opinion, they still got some talent to work with. BB is a magician with players, so maybe things might be better than what appears on paper.
