LAOJoe & RTTRUTH's 10th Annual "Official" Mock Draft

Haskins is going to be a stud NFL QB...He's got the moxy. He's got the natural leadership and personality that's exactly what you want. And we all know he's got the arm. He got the "it factor" for lack of a better term. It would blow my mind to see him slide out of the top 5, let alone past New York.

I got into this during the GMO draft lol. He is all hope and athleticism without the production he should have. Exactly what the Giants do not need right now.

Which is why the picks will be Gary and Jones. Then I will drink myself into a stupor and abandon all hope. But hey that particular road leads to #1 overall in 2021 so maybe that really is Gettlemans plan!

He knows what his job is. Find a franchise QB. The player he selects will be his legacy. He is 68 years old -- he doesn't have another shot at this. (Though one could argue he didn't deserve his shot with the Giants...) Gettleman doesn't care much about what other people think and he sticks to his board. But his comments keep trying to create this unrealistic world where a QB needs to be the BPA when you take them -- which is almost never the case. You can't really say that Haskins is BPA at 6 can you? But then he OVER AND OVER has stated you stick to your board, you can't ever reach, don't get cute with the draft...

He is setting the table for a defensive player and an offensive lineman in the first round instead of a QB. Last year he did everything but take a billboard out saying "Saquan is the only player we are considering." This year he has signaled time and time again a QB will not be the pick at 6.

Plan A needs to be DL at #6, OL at #17 and use # 37 to acquire Rosen or Jones/Lock/Haskins

I just remarked that he'll be a stud NFL QB, so I think you can absolutely say that. Hell, you can make a solid case at #1 for that matter.

As you mentioned. The only thing going against him is experience. Potential is through the roof with Haskins...

My Bold Draft Prediction is Lock goes before Haskins. only 1 QB in the top 7 picks

Reports are they didn't like Rosen on a personal level (personality and leadership) and they feel like this season with the cards did nothing to change their opinion. The general feeling around the beat reporters is *IF* Rosen is available the Giants would only be willing to make a token offer where they didn't have to commit to him. Talk is no better than the 3rd rounder they got from Cleveland #95 overall. That won't be enough to get it done. I am all for trading for him though. I would give #17 overall in a heartbeat.

I am strongly of the belief that you either see a franchise guy or you don't. Using second round picks on a guy you hope can turn into a franchise guy is the sort of move you make when you have a decent team and your starter has a few years left. Eli is 38 and on the last year of his deal. If you don't like a QB enough to take them #6 overall -- don't bother.

It could happen. Ya never know...IMO, it would be a mistake, but I admit, I didn't study the QB's very hard this year outside of the top 2 perceived prospects.

  14. If they are considering Jones at #17 they should absolutely give up #17 for Rosen....Rosen had no chance in Zona this year....terrible OL, no weapons and lame duck coach

Is he a better pure BPA -- without positional value because Gettleman doesn't believe in that -- than White? Or Burns? Or Sweat? I don't think the Giants believe so.

I have Haskins from a pure BPA perspective in the second tier of guys. Beneath Bosa, Q. Williams, and Josh Allen. After that I think it's harder to separate them into individual pieces. But I have about what like 8 guys clumped there and it's where I put the top 2 QB's. But when you look at the way most guys have them ranked from a pure talent perspective it ranges widely but mostly in the second half of the first round.

  17. I really feel Haskins was in a great situation w the Ohio St speed on offense....NOBODY in the Big 10 could match them therefore his WRs had an advantage every game...take the NW game for example...those DBs were scared to death and giving an 8-10 yd cushion for the conference title...obviously he will get challenged a lot more w disguise and press coverage where the windows will be much much smaller...I think he has a lot to prove at the next level

Bengals brought him in last week for an official visit. I like this option for them.

He's a nice player. Better athlete than I expected to go with his production.

I understand what you are saying....QB's are incredibly difficult to figure. It's about SO MUCH MORE than just physical ability. If you truly believe that you have a QB prospect that is going to be a great NFL QB, you take him. Justifying whether or not he's 'truly" BPA shouldn't even be a concern if you need a QB.

You now how this league works.
