With their last choice of the 2019 draft, the Indianapolis Colts select Sam Mustipher / C / Notre Dame
1(11) - Montez Sweat: DE - Mississippi State 2(16) - Kaleb McGary: OT - Washington 3(14) - JJ Arcega-Whiteside: WR - Stanford 5(11) - Isaiah Prince: OT - OSU 6(10) - Clayton Thorson: QB - Northwestern 6(25) - Zach Gentry: TE - Michigan 6(38) - Karan Higdon: RB - Michigan 6(40) - Tyre Brady: WR - Marshall 7(9) - Xavier Crawford: CB - Central Michigan Trade: Dolphins get: 2 (10) 3 (8) 4 (8) 6 (37) Bengals get: 2 (16) 3 (14) Kiko Alonso
THAT makes this my favorite draft of this mock. Burns and Baker are two beasts that will transform your defense. Adderley was one of my three targets that I was hoping would last when I traded down from 2(13) to 2(21). That's a heck of a haul from one pick.
Here's the next five..... (27) Chiefs - OTC 7(28) Chargers - 5:30pm 7(29) Chiefs - 6pm 7(30) Saints - 6:30pm 7(31) Giants - 7pm
Calvin vs Riley would be a lot of fun for the next 5+ years if the real Panthers got him. Nice job working in that next wave for their secondary. The real team kept putting band-aids on that unit for a long time.
Thanks Torgo. I was real happy with that draft...Evidently they are set up well for the way this thing falls. RT had them in the GMO Mock, and he had the same feeling.... I like what you did with Falcons as well. Mecole was a steal. You were semi-reluctant on that one, but it was one of my favorite picks. Dude has speed to burn...That could be deadly opposite Julio.
I think my favorite "pick" is the trade for Kiko Alonso. You got an immediate contributor without sacrificing your day two picks, which means you managed to get four Day 1-2 caliber players out of three Day 1-2 picks.
Dallas Cowboys 2(32) Taylor Rapp: FS - Washington 3(26) Khalen Saunders: DT - Western Illinois 4(19) Austin Bryant: DE - Clemson 4(26) Lamont Gaillard: C - Georgia 5(3) Alize Mack: TE - Notre Dame 6(24) Sione Takitaki: LB - BYU 6(41) Jordan Ta'amu: QB - Mississippi I figured I did pretty well for not having a 1st round pick. I actually traded down once I finally got to my 2nd rounder to get a bit more ammo. I like all my picks and thus all these players can go screw themselves because they are now on the Cowboys.
It was a great trade for both sides. He moved up 6 spots to get maybe a little better caliber player and picked up a fourth rounder he didnt have. I got a player who replaces the intensity of Burfict without the blatant dirty tendencies. Huge win for both teams for short and long term opportunities
Green Bay Packers 1(4) Quinnen Williams: DT - Alabama 2(12) Irv Smith Jr.: TE - Alabama 3(11) Amani Hooker: S - Iowa 3(32) Tre Lamar: ILB - Clemson 4(12) Emanuel Hall: WR - Missouri 6(21) Hamp Cheevers: CB - Boston College 6(33) Demarcus Christmas: DL - Florida State 7(12) Ryan Bates, OL - Penn State I made the bold move up to #4 using both first round picks. Losing a first sucks but sometimes it's there for a reason. I was still able to get players of need that I really liked with my next 4 picks and then got a few depth pieces I like with my last few picks.
Philadelphia Eagles 1(28) Chris Lindstrom: G - Boston College 2(13) Dre'Mont Jones: DT - Ohio State 2(28) David Montgomery: RB - Iowa State 3(9) Deionte Thompson: S - Alabama 4(25) Terrill Hanks: LB - New Mexico State 5(28) Trey Pipkins: OT - Sioux Falls 6(24) Gardner Minshew: QB - Washington State I trade my future 3rd and 4th but the Eagles should be getting a comp 3rd and 4th among other comp picks next year so I felt it was wise to use them if I had a good reason. I traded them to move up for Jones and Thompson. This one was a complete repost but I guess I'd post it too.
Raiders 1(2) Nick Bosa: DE - Ohio State 1(24) Noah Fant: TE - Iowa 1(27) Josh Jacobs: RB - Alabama 2(27) Chauncey Gardner-Johnson: DB - Florida 4(27) Bobby Okereke: LB - Stanford 6(3) Brett Rypien: QB - Boise State 7(13) Mike Bell: S - Fresno State 7(21) Cameron Smith: LB - USC 7(39) TBD I went with a win-now with Carr approach. First 4 picks are all starters. Gardner-Johnson likely in the slot but could take a spot on the outside. I then got what I think is a Gruden depth QB, a safety for depth and 2 LBs for depth and possibly 1 to start. One more pick to go. I have a couple guys in mind and hopefully I get one of them.
It looks pretty good @matthewwillson29 . I really like the first 5 picks. And I like Tyre Brady as well, considering I took him in the GMO. Solid building through the trenches. And between Arcega-Whiteside and Tyre you brought in some good depth and options to put around A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. Gentry should turn into a solid blocking TE who can catch the odd short 3rd down pass as well
I like that Raiders first round. All 3 huge areas of need....Thought maybe you were gonna take Lock with that 3rd one. The guy you took with the very next pick to Philly might have been my choice there, in light of that Osemele trade, that I never really understood. But can't argue with the Jacobs pick.
Jacobs or any early RB pick is never sexy in these mocks but I felt I'd get him because my strategy needed me not to half-ass it when I need a RB.
Of your four drafts Joe, I like Eagles and Raiders best, in that order. Eagles got some of my preferred big names, between Lindstrom, Montgomery, Thompson, and great value on Minshew. I was considering him for both Skins and Colts but couldn't decide on a spot to pull the trigger before you took what I consider to be the last worthwhile QB to draft. (Stick in the 7th was a consideration). Only pick I don't like for Raiders is Mike Bell. But Bosa makes up for all kinds of maybes. Jacobs, Gardner-Johnson, and Okereke were all nice picks. Rypien could be a solid backup too.
When I saw your list, I was worried he wasn't getting to New Orleans...lol! This would have been my pick for CLE if I hadn't just decided to take a guy they've shown interest in (Lowery) In the GMO, I snagged him in UDFA rounds....
RT should I cry because you don't like one of my 7th rounders? And Tim I'll get the Chargers pick in a sec.
