If had him pegged to New York all along, but I still think there is NO WAY they get him at #6....Still say watch out for Oakland, but I'd more concerned about getting jumped. My guess is that Haskins will come off the board at #3.
Yeah I explored options to trade up and honestly it's just too damned expensive to make a move up for a 1 year starter. While I really like his tape he had a ton of talent around him and was largely asked to be a facilitator most of the time. His ball placement was excellent for the type of throws he was being asked to make but his deep game needs some development and he needs to get his feet more consistent. If he's costing me #6 overall -- yes I will take him every time. But if he is costing me a bundle of picks in an aggressive trade up scenario -- I'll let someone else take that risk and benefit from a player sliding down to 6.
Well part of why I didn't trade up is I don't think there is a chance in the world Gettleman will. In fact if no QB is taken yet when the Giants are on the clock at 6 -- I think he still won't take a QB.
REALLY? Oh boy...I think Eli is WAY past his better days. New York fans will come unglued if they pass on this guy, won't they?
If Daniel Jones is a better prospect than Dwayne Haskins I need to throw away my evaluation criteria. I mean we are in peak smokescreen period here but there are plenty of rumblings lately saying just this.
If I am being honest I am already unglued. I hated the hire and I have hated the majority of his moves. Giants fans are very patient and very loyal and very understanding — for the most part. The vast majority of Giants fans think Eli is still fine and that the Giants don’t need to take a QB this year. They like Herbert or Tua or waiting for Lawrence etc... those of us that watch the games differently see QB as a bigger priority though. I wanted the Giants to get Maholmes 2 years ago. Apparently so did MacAdoo but he was overruled. He had to basically stand on a table to get them to take Webb in the third round that year.
