Well, in that case, I'll say it was a pleasure NOT doing business with you. I was out most of the day and could hardly believe he was still available when I updated my board. I was sweating it through a few picks. I could be persuaded to move any of my three 7ths.
He would have been my top choice at the end of the fifth, but the real life team signed a free agent DT yesterday.
Well it was slow for a moment. Thought I would throw out some faves. Here's a few picks (that weren't mine) that I really liked for fit and value...Top 5 from the first 2 rounds: Round 1 1.8 Ed Oliver (DET) 1.9 Devin White (MIA) 1.20 Devin Bush (PIT) 1.14 C Wilkins (ATL) 1.15 DK Metcalf (WASH) Round 2 2.32 Taylor Rapp (DAL) 2.24 Deebo Samuel (NE) 2.9 Marquese Brown (DEN) 2.13 Dre'mont Jones (PHI) (TIE) 2.12 I. Smith Jr (GB) 2.23 E. Jenkins (HOU)
You're missing all my teams but the Raiders TD. Don't be jealous because my Raiders are better than yours. I'll join the party in a bit too.
Well you still got Carr leading the way, soooo, no...lol! Lookin forward to your picks. There were a lot of good ones. These were simply my takes. I don't want anyone to be upset if I didn't select one of theirs. All the drafters here are worthy adversaries....
Carr is good. He and the whole team just had a rough year. If the Raiders get a QB early it'll be because they really like one and not just to replace Carr. They can make a real impact if they build around him.
In order drafted Round 1 1(1) Kyler Murray (TB) - Had the balls to move from Winston 1(7) Jawaan Taylor (JAX) 1(13) T.J. Hockenson (BUF) 1(21) Cody Ford (SEA) 1(26) Byron Murphy (IND) Round 2 2(3) Kelvin Harmon (SF) 2(11) Hakeem Butler (DET) 2(22) Greg Little (HOU) 2(25) Will Grier (LAC) 2(30) Yodney Cajuste (NO)
I see the irony that I didn't have the "balls to move from Carr". But I'm completely over Winston... not that I was for him to begin with really.
I've said many times that Carr is good. When you get an opp to upgrade that position though..... I really can't wait to see what Oakland does at #4...The Browns don't have a 1st this year, so that's the pivotal pick of day 1 IMO...
IMO (and this from a guy who's taken Daniel Jones twice) it's possible there isn't one QB in this draft who is an upgrade from Carr. My money is on Kyler if anyone. I'm with Joe on this one. Whole team had a bad year. And it's possible the coach has no idea what he's doing. I'd buy Gruden is a terrible HC before I buy that Carr is a below average QB. Look at the RB's, OL, and WR group Carr had to work with. What Amari did before and after leaving Oakland may hint that it's possible Gruden is a horrible coach. I mean, does anyone think he didn't look like a #1 WR in Dallas?? So what happened in Oakland? Time will tell ultimately. But in what is widely considered a "weak" QB year, with 3 first rounders, I would certainly try to build around Carr in the draft this year instead of replacing him if I was Mayock. And I think he is. You look at the money they threw at T.Williams and AB. If I know Mayock (and that is an IF), he'll go trenches with 2 of the first 4, maybe even 3/4. Then he'll just let Gruden go to work. Hopefully it works out for them. They will certainly be one of the most interesting teams to watch this year.
That's interesting....I'm not gonna name the picks, but 3 of your 2nd rd faves were among my most disliked of the round...
MVP?? I do assume you're joking. If not, it has to be a FSU fan thing. I agree his OL isn't good. But he's never proven to be more than adequate. I can almost guarantee if they don't move on this year, they will next.
Having said that, I do like Bruce Arians a lot. He's pretty creative. I like Winston's chances better with Bruce than I would with the last failed HC or someone like Gase.
