Rams (RT) next Redskins (also RT) after that @xinik heads up... Giants after RT picks twice then Falcons (me again - pick is also up for grabs - PM now if you want it) Redskins (RT again) Cardinals (Tim again) @showstopper heads up... Steelers might be up sooner than you think
Falcons select Jordan Brailford, EDGE, Oklahoma State (next pick after RTx2 and Giants is still being offered - PM if you want it)
Taken him in both drafts now. Tried to talk myself out of it here because we took Julian Love with our first pick. But when cap issues become a problem, Marcus Peters or more likely Aqib Talib will be obvious cut candidates...so an infusion of youth seems like a good play. INT leader, and fits Wade Phillips style I believe. Worth a shot here.
Very interesting that you're taking him specifically with Wade Philips in mind. That means Brown will be a dime back, which is a good situation for a developmental guy who is a natural ball hawk.
Well I wouldn't say Wade Phillips specifically. But he's a developmental guy whose style of play matches the type of guys Phillips uses more closely than one or two other guys I may have had my eye on. He would start in dime most likely due to the depth on the roster. But as long as he isn't asked to do too much right away, I like his potential for the future. I have two picks left with LAR and might consider consolidating those into one pick to move up for someone specific later on
Well, the trick to Phillips is that he goes from base single gap 3-4 straight to dime with a 4-man front. So if you bring in a developmental DB or linebacker for his team, you have to base it on the idea that the team will use a heck of a lot of dime. That makes Brown a better system fit for you than it would for most other teams.
The real life Falcons scratched off one of my draft needs yesterday. I was planning to take a second DT, but yesterday they signed Tyeler Davison. That freed me up to trade the picks or address other positions. I ended up going with a second developmental pass rusher and a backup QB.
