CBS is dead and has been for sometime. It especially went down when their draft staff wasn't retained.
Appreciate that. I'm not sure if CBS has a whole crew working their draft board if it is just one guy putting together their information. I follow and speak with different writers/websites this time of year and I'm under the impression that Chris Trapasso puts together the majority, if not all of, their rankings. I know they have several writers that contribute mocks, but he may be the only prospect evaluator on that site.
I just got in a couple minutes ago. I'm reviewing my board and shootin' the shit with Torgo. I'll have a pick up in a few.
Sorry JD, I just realized my pick was up at 12:30. I had it confused with my 2pm pick. I'll type it up now.
Their rankings were NFLDraftScout.com until this year since they shut down. Now they can't even get the positional sorting to work if you get to that page directly from google.
Last year they were not NFL DraftScout, it was two years ago. Dane Brugler and Rob Rang did that site, Dane is now doing stuff with the Athletic, and Rob is doing some stuff with footballmaven. Dane also is on the The draft show, which is on the Cowboys.
I'm pretty sure last year was the last year they did it with NFLDraftscout online rankings which was the last year they had them online. Maven has NFLDraftScout.com as intellectual property and actually try to use it everywhere. Heck they may still even use their rankings but I think they are only available in a magazine now and not online.
One guy who claims he was behind the curtain is rebuilding it. Just drop NFL from the name: http://draftscout.com/ The position ranking screens look familiar: http://www.draftscout.com/players.php?GenPos=CB&DraftYear=2019&sortorder=TSXPos&order=ASC But the specific player pages are incomplete, and some of them don't work at all. Combine info is there but not pro day results or the news feeds we used to see from the old site: http://www.draftscout.com/dsprofile.php?PlayerId=1028307&DraftYear=2019 Still, it's encouraging to see on the home page that he plans to have it completed in time for the college season, including features that used to be "hidden" on the old site. Might be nice if he actually pulls it off.
