I thought you might be one of the few to comment on that Xinik. I was encouraged when they signed him. And he's done enough that even in his "WTF?" decisions I give him the benefit of the doubt at this point. His ONLY obvious mistake to me in all the time he's been here now was drafting Zach Banner in the 4th round. But he's got enough right around it that it basically doesn't matter. That pick just seemed out of sync.
Until now I never really envied teams that had great GM's. As long as the GM wasn't a complete shit show they usually vould pull together a functional roster and the coaching staff needed to make it work. But you can really see the difference having a guy like Ballard, or Dorsey or Veach (at least he seems like he knows what he is doing this early into his tenure) when you actually are paying attention to the draft and roster building like I am these days. The Giants have never really had a history of top GM's. Hell the league had to force them to hire George Young at one point because they were so bad at finding and selecting players. Accorsi was fine, Reese wasn't great but he found some nice UDFA to supplement a rough few years of injuries and poor drafting through the middle of the draft. I think in a few years I will be able to understand what Gettleman has done here -- so long as he finds a QB to replace Eli. I guess my issue is simply that I don't think Gettleman has earned the benefit of the doubt before he started making the WTF moves and when you combine that with him wildly mis-judging the roster when he first got here... It's all just been a tough pill to swallow. I have sort of hit the time of year where draft fatigue is setting in and I just want this whole show to get on the road. He's still only like 18 months into his tenure and he will get his chance to build this thing as he see's fit.

This is who I had penciled in for Cleveland at 3.16, before I changed the plan and moved up to grab Mack Wilson. Dude wouldn't have even gotten close to mid round. Whew. Now I'm very happy I made that move up...Nice pick.
I was considering Yodny here, even with taking Jonah at the top, so you made my decision for me. I have a first round score on Cajuste.
