George gets asked directly about criticism that he's not a football guy and his response is basically he talks to his board and owners around the league. Such horseshit.
Ted Phillips says "Have we gotten the QB position right? No. Have we won enough games? No. But everything else is there." What the actual fuck are you even saying?
Hahaha! George: "The last few weeks ive been faithfully replying to my hate mail". Passive aggressive bitch. Cry me a fucking river george you enormous piece of shit.
Pace just directly referenced winning 3 out of the final 4 games. That saved these pukes their jobs. Fuck you to any fan that wanted them to win.
Hahaha, Nagy's Bears background isnt big enough to fill the screen. Do you realize how ridiculous you look Matt you poundland motherfucker.
After this its clear they are just gonna run back the entire thing. They're so dumb they're actually gonna let Pace pick ANOTHER qb. Im more disgusted with this team right now than i was in 2014. At least then heads rolled. This is a badly run organization that never learns a single lesson, that never wins enough games and the truth is they're happy with all of the above. For my part im gonna have to re-evaluate how much time i give to this fuck off team. They may finally have made me crack. I might not watch a single game next season.
My fiance and our son have become Bears fans, since I came into their lives. It's something that we all really wanted to share together - watching the games and enjoying that time as a family. Instead, I've tried to pretend the team doesn't exist, going so far as to hide our kid's Bears shirt so he doesn't ask when the next game is. I'm literally ashamed of this team, and ashamed that I've subjected my family to it. What an embarrassment this organization is.
Basically it went like this... Bears: Have we failed? Yes. Also Bears: Are we gonna change the way we do things? Nope, not at all.
I bought my kid a Mack jersey at the London game, about $100 equivalent for a junior size(!). He wore it a lot the 2019 season, less this season. In fact altho he likes football i've sensed this year a slight reluctance to watch Bears games, which i totally get! Im not gonna buy 1 more piece of Bears merch for him again, not 1. Im not making any effort to get him to be a Bears fan. Whenever he decides he wants to pick a team himself there will be one simple rule, no team inside the division. After that there's 28 to choose from knock yourself out.
Ive been thinking about this, after that presser id say the chances of the Bears taking a QB in the 1st round have gone thru the roof. In fact given they are out of position there's a big chance of a trade up. We know they're desperate and at this point Pace's trade boner is so well known it gets its own credentials and parking space at the combine! They predictably escaped the chop this time, but these two are surely on the hotseat now, that means Priority 1, 2, 3 & 4 is job retention, which means 100% short term decision making. This could easily lurch into worst case scenario territory. Of future mortgaging, both in terms of cap and draft picks. You think they're gonna take a Tackle now? Think again. Hell these these chuckle fucks prob dont even have it as a need in the first place. What single move could buy them the most time? Answer: Taking a 1st round QB, as high as they can, and selling hope to ownership and the fanbase. Because if they win 8-9games next season but the QB shows real promise, well then ownership isnt gonna blow it all up then are they? Hell its not just their best chance of not getting fired, its by far their best chance of extentions all round! Its like Flyer always said, when you push the button on a QB the clock is ticking. Long term that clock can work against you, but depending on timings(no pun intended) the clock can also work for you and that is the position George has put the Bears in, having the clock work for Pace.
We don't know what went on behind closed doors. Maybe Georgie was pleased with Pace/Nagy and empowered them to fix the QB situation (this is my assumption). Maybe Georgie was not pleased with them but Pace/Nagy sold Georgie on a plan to fix the position by going all in on the draft or a big trade? There's no question a big splash at QB will be made either way.
Just caught the presser. Bad and cheap buzz words everywhere. They don't give a shit about the fans and love mediocrity. They talk about adversity and accountability, and all of what's left of my fandom wants to know how many QBs and years Pace is going to get so I can set expectations if/when I tune in because I don't give a shit otherwise. Don't bullshit me about "solution-oriented" when the guy who's three "solutions" at QB were all garbage. I'm jealous of other teams whose leadership gives a shit about them. I hope like fuck you're right because that's a comp pick. That's starter money and I don't know how he makes that, but to this estimation, there is no shortage of stupid teams with stupid front offices.
You know what he's saying? He's saying, "I've done a good job making the McCaskeys money, and you dumb fucks continue to give us cash hand over fist. Hahahahahah fuckers!". I know some don't seem him as much of a problem because he's been a good bean counter, I think blame goes the McCaskeys and then Phillips (and then the rest of these asshole). Our mantra was "Fire Everyone". They instead Fired *literally* no one as Pagano "retired". To be clear, this team is going to suck out loud next year. The schedule is MUCH harder so unless they have a miracle draft we're going to see this team get owned repeatedly. Man, you and Pat I think brought this up earlier, given how much they think QB seems to be the primary problem, I could *easily* see yet another trade up to pick the 6th best QB, mortgaging the future because why the fuck not? Arob will not be here, either. And you're right, they probably don't see the Oline as a problem, because they were happy with what happened during that bumslaying stretch. Nevermind what happened in the final two games. Pace said, "our process hasn't changed" - yep, it sure hasn't. If anyone thinks that time he's going to land that QB I don't even know what to tell you. Honestly, I just made sure my NFL Game Pass won't renew next year. Next year is clearly going to be the start of the rebuilding process, I only hope they don't mortgage away too much of the future. But really, we won't see marked change until things shake up at the top.
Also, shoutout to Potash, fucking hell that was a great question, "How did you fuck up picking Trubsiky over Mahomes and Watson"
LOL. Are they even going to have a draft when Pace stupidly trades up for Lance/Wilson/Jones/Trask? Mortgaging more draft picks in the process while ignoring the dire need for 2 OTs (among other positions)? Starts by doing to them what fans did to the bulls. Stop giving them money. Stop buying season tickets, and like John Fox's tenure--make sure every televised home game has to have camera angles that try to hide nobody in the upper decks.
A big theme of the day was togetherness and how much everybody loves everybody and how that's all that matters at the end of the day, more than wins/losses. You want change? Then we need dysfunction. Emery/Trestman level dysfunction where everyone turns on each other. Hopefully 2021 is that ugly.
