Christ, the emotions I felt reading the last two posts on the prior page. Freakin' roller coaster, man. Excitement, then disappointed resignation. Sounds about right. Fingers crossed the rumors are wrong, and Pace and Nagy are gone.
]Local beat guys like Brad Biggs, Patrick Finley, and Adam Jahns haven't confirmed/all said something along the lines of 'we'll see.' Nagy I could understand. A coach who can say I've been to the playoffs 2x in 3 years and is seemingly liked by most except a bust picked 2nd overall (who probably won't be on the team anyway) can sell stupid ownership/board of directors. The guy who couldn't find a QB by buying one, trading for one, or drafting one puzzles me. All for broke in 2021? I hope not. Pace will fuck 2022's resources and still won't get the QB right. And I won't have much interest in watching unless I need comedic relief. Later Chuckles. Won't miss your dumb ass.
Spotrac's free agent market value tool actually has RRH on around a 3year deal at just under $25mil. So that annual of $8.25mil is actually more than the roughly 7 i pointed to. We get it, you've long thought RRH was worth a packet of peanuts and not much more. I'm just pointing out that A- What the team paid him this year wasnt a huge amount and quite prob right in line with his market value. And B- I, and others, see him signing a much bigger deal next go round. You should actually be hoping im right, if RRH signs an $8mil per deal that will = a compensatory pick for the Bears, which they'll need after the tear down a year from now.
I could see Pace mortgaging the 2022 draft to move up in the 1st round this year and take a QB. This is why it's so important Georgie cleans house now. Pace in his desperation could set us back another 2-3 seasons.
We knew it. Those 3 wins in December destroyed any possibility of positive change. The level of contempt and disrespect they have for fans is enormous.
"Everyone in this building is fixated on being a championship organization" All evidence to the contrary Ted.
Reporter Pat Finley just hit Georgie hard. Reminded him he said before the season that he needed to see if this years team was closer to the 2019 8-8 or the 2018 12-4 team. George didn't really have an answer.
