Sam,

I can only assume you embedded the wrong clip.

1. The tackle didn't attempt to dive block, he tripped over the guard's foot and fell on his face.
2. The tight end was probably over powered as #15 shed his block rather quickly.
3. But not quickly enough to tackle the RB for a loss (unless you consider no gain a loss).

If this how you analyze film . . . don't quit your day job.

(But the spoiler was funny.)

Well, since they don't make gif "highlights" of shit plays, all I can do is tell everyone to actually watch the entire game film of him on draftbreakdown.

I had the same problem with Corey Coleman's film in regards to plays away from him and you dismissed those as well...I also had a problem with Coleman quitting on his teammates due to "injury" instead of playing in his last game as a Bear. This year, did he really need to miss 6 games for a 4-6 week injury? Pryor didn't miss a game even though he needed surgery.

Show me the double teams that he made a play on..since you are touting his ability to play against double teams...

A) he was RARELY(I didn't say never) double teamed
B) when he was, he didn't fight through it

I'll wait for you to show me those highlights...

(edit:) And where did you come up with 95.6% they ran away from him?

I had some time, so I charted the LSU game...Did it twice to check my numbers.

Of the plays that Garrett was in the game, they ran:
Right(away from Garrett) 18 times
Middle(Garret did play on the inside on some of these plays) 15 times
Left(towards Garrett) 11 times

So your percentage is definitely off...also, in all the plays Garret was in the game he saw a double team on 5 plays...all 5 he was manhandled.

He was also blocked exclusively by a TE or RB on several pass plays and he managed 0 sacks in this game...for the record, he only recorded (2) assist tackles in this game, both of them another player reached the RB first.

Granted I picked his worst game of the season, but you are picking the best gif you can find to argue your point, so....

Are we watching the same game?

I counted 34 runs away from Garrett and only 10 runs at him, based on the design of the play and where Garrett was lined up.

In this game alone, it was 77% of running plays away from him. And that's an SEC team that was able to rush for almost 300 yards that game.

Of the 10 times they ran at him:

• 1 triple team, obviously run goes for yardage[/*]
• 1 double team, still makes tackle for loss[/*]
• 2 double teams, makes tackle for no gain[/*]
• 2 tackles for no/minimal gain[/*]
• 5 runs at him where they gained yardage[/*]

That's the laziest thing I've seen written in a while. "They ran up the middle and Garrett sometimes plays in the middle (I counted less than a handful), ergo, all runs up the middle are at Myles Garrett.

You clearly already have your mind made up. The video in no way supports those numbers.

There are many, many others to choose from. Don't worry.

I didn't see the trip, but even if he hadn't, we both know he was not in any position to attempt a clean block.

Sorry, you are correct. No gain.

I'll be here all offseason.

*THUMBSUP*

I just spent 30 minutes charting a game and it's the laziest thing you've seen??

I never said they were ALL at Garrett, I merely had a footnote that some of them were at Garrett...

Your argument is that they constantly run away from Garret, 95% of the time...it simply isn't true. Your "guess" was actually the laziest thing written in awhile? *YES*

LOL, unfortunately for you, this is available to everyone to watch...

He had two tackle **assists** in the game, neither of which was he double teamed. Now you're just making things up...

You act like I hate the guy and want him taken off the draft board, couldn't be further from the truth.

I simply see more from Jonathan Allen on tape than I do from Garrett.

You make statements that make him out to be the safest pick to come along in 30 years, I see things on film that contradict that and have pointed them out.

I can say without hesitation, if the Browns traded down to #3 overall to give the Bears a QB and the 49ers took Allen at #2, I would absolutely take Garrett. There isn't another player in this draft, sorry stopper, that can touch either of these two in talent. That said, I think Allen is a better prospect.

And I can find ones from Allen as well..That wasn't the point of the post, I was merely pointing out the issues with Garrett...

Now if you want me concerns with Allen, I feel like he will be a bigger asset to the run game than the passing game as an individual. It will take a coordinator and OLBs to be able to recognize what he does and react off of him in order to gain pass rush. That limits what his impact can be by those surrounding him. Garrett will make an impact as an individual...

Not at all! Garrett could bust out just as well as anyone else drafted. That's always a risk you run.

I'm a Garrett fan, but when all is said and done, I wouldn't have a single issue with them taking Allen.

#1 - J. Allen
#12 - C. Davis
#33 - D. Walker (sorry, stopper, he'll be available)

Shore up the run and pass defense... I'm okay with that.

8. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

*OK*

That works for me!

IF Corey Davis isn't available, then there might be an outside chance that either Malik Hooker or Jamal Adams is...I would be ok with either of them as well at #12...

9. All I will say is watch the game vs Ole Miss if it's available on draft breakdown...neither Allen or Garrett can match that production...I'm going on record in early Jan and saying he will b more productive than those guys next yr

10. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

Careful, you don't know where he is going to land yet...They could have an incompetent D-Coordinator that ruins his rookie year, or a coach that refuses to play rookies at all..

11. Allen=MIA in 1st half....I just dont see it w him

12. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

I wondered if I was the only one that can't see him.

13. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

I take that ^^^^ back.

I did hear his name called. It was for a personal foul that kept a Clemson scoring drive alive.

You know who did look pretty good in that game? #4.

Now in two games against the closest thing collegiate quarterbacks will see to an NFL defense, Watson has gone:

66 of 103 (64.1 percent) for 825 yards (8.0 YPA), 7 TDs (6.8 percent), 1 INT (1.0 percent) for a QB rating of 151.8 and added another 116 yards on the ground for a score.

Man, I've said he's the best prospect in this class but I may be buying a ticking for the Watson Wagon.

Save your money, Sammy.

16. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

If Hue & Co. feel good about him at the Senior Bowl, we might not have a choice.

17. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

Sadly, that is true.

18. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

So on a night during the biggest game, he has 7 tackles and a sack...that doesn't live up to your standard? That surprises me...

That said, if you want to base your decision to draft someone one one game, we might as well trade every draft pick we have every season for veterans, because there isn't a prospect alive that doesn't have a game that doesn't meet your expectations...even your guy, Walker.

19. IrishDawg42 Legend Manager Browns Buckeyes Fighting Irish

If going QB was inevitable, that's the ticket I would purchase myself...I just hope it isn't inevitable. I still have visions of sugar plums, er I mean Manziel, dancing in my head...that was a bad trip.

20. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

That was more than a bad trip. That was an over dose!
