I think today was Caleb's best game so far even with the bad INT. Seemed in command from the second quarter on.

Jolly good!!!! Complimentary football!!! Rolling against the bottom of the barrel teams but you need to start somewhere. Spreading the ball around on offense spreading the sacks and takeaways on defense!!!

Fucking 6:30am in the morning I was not up for this one, plus no sunday morning hockey since my son had a game at 11a. I did wake up for some magical reason at 7:30 or so, saw the score at halftime and said, fuck this, I am up and watched the second half.

And man am I glad I did. Yes, this week and last week are bad teams, but every talking head was saying the Bears were going to lose this game. Because the Jags showed so much life last week against the....checks notes....Colts, that their win meant more than the Bears over the Panthers, so fair. And then they dominated again.

And here's the thing guys, when I watch Caleb, I am seeing a command and *confidence* I don't think I've ever seen in Chicago. He's going to have mis-steps throughout the season, he's a rookie, but have you noticed that every game has been incremental progress? This is not hope alone, or squinting, or whatever. This kid has the tools, and he can be special. And I am here for it. He just tied Justin and Mitch's first season touchdown totals (they played 12 games each)......and it's been 6 games. And he would have beat it if DJ had gotten an extra half yard.

Waldron still makes me nervous with these playcalls, A LOT, but he too is not being totally stupid, I love on the goalline the cute shit has stopped and instead load up, get under center, have that kid play FB and fucking pound it in.

I also hope there's some way we can sign Allen but that just might not be in the cards. If we could get 2 years out of him while Rome gets up to speed?

Agreed, I love how he bounced back and shook off that int. I also love how he is taking those running lanes when they are given to him, and that big run it looked like he was chasing that DB down the field that was locked in man on man, or the other when he rolled to his left the DB was not coming off his assignment either, and was able to get the first down. Why I love the fact he is reluctant to run the ball, but defenses will now have to honor that ability moving forward.

What a delight it is to read this season's game threads as compared to the last few years

Just a fantastic game to get to be at in person. The support was amazing, surely that came thru on tv. When the Jags had the ball it was loud as he'll. Bears fan next to me was from Portugal and knew his stuff, great dude. I was high 5ing fans in the stands. By the late 3rd Q my voice was pretty gone but walking out at the 2min warning I was just blasting out LETS GO's and high 10ing fans left and right. Just the best. I honestly wonder if a game at Soldier, even a win, would be a bit of a letdown after that. There's a basic appreciation here of just getting to be around so many other bears fans that I'm not sure would exist at Soldier.

Anyway, hell of a day. Hell of a weekend. I must've shouted bear down a million times on the Friday/Saturday while sightseeing around the city, they were everywhere. Only slight downer was the Bears official pub this time was not as good as 2019. Greenwood's sports bar just didn't have the same pub vibe as The Barrowboy & Banker which was an epic night. They also needed more staff. Way too long to get a drink and bears fans were getting a little agro with each other which you'd like to not see.

I'm gonna wait to get home before watching it again, but it felt like one of the more fun bears games I've watched the last 20years. 4 out of 5 TDs at our end, Keenans tea party TD was the far end, and I totally missed it at the time tbh heh.

Waldrons play design on the 1st Kmet TD was just a thing of beauty, I have to acknowledge that after the shit I've given him. There seemed to be so many toss plays and seeing those from behind was v interesting. It felt like the POA was rarely open for swift on those runs, he turned down some big cutback lanes early to try the edge and got stuffed. Later on it felt like he hit the cutbacks way more with good success.

It felt like cakeb played really well.

I'm in Windsor now seeing some more friends. Head back Wed afternoon.
