^^^^ Absolutely agree with this. That D was better than this one but also that D was different than this one. It's hard to compare a 4-3 cover 2 with what we are running now. The linebackers have completely different skill sets and so does the DL. Even though it isn't an Apples to Apples comparison that 2005 team had the ability to overcome an absolutely pathetic offense at times and still win games. I think it was maybe 2004 or 2005 the Bears won a game against the Queens even though Rex had a 0.0 QBR. It was the first time in history that a QB won a game with a 0.0 rating.
Against the Vikings in 06 I think he had something like a 1.3 rating. But the Bears won. Devin Hester took a punt back for a score and Ricky Manning returned an INT. Brad Johnson threw 4 picks to help bail out Rex. It was new years eve against the Packers that he posted the goose egg. Bears got trashed 26-7.
