Both Gliberts are out Harris is out- Hubbard will be starting RT Nix is out - I thought he practiced all week but.... Shazier is out AGAIN! GOLSON - OUT GOLDEN - OUT Wallace - out Rodgers - Out
GOOD GOD.....RT DOWN TO HUBBARD AGAINST THIS FRONT 7!? NEXT WEEK I EXPECT TO SEE #7 ON THE LIST. *WALL*
Interesting. I can't imagine that the Steelers are going to play the game with only 44 players dressed! Expect a couple of roster moves tomorrow morning.
There is speculation the Steelers might promote tackle Matt Feiler from their practice squad on Saturday
Well, to get to the 46 players they can dress, they would need to promote two. Feiler and Shabazz seem to be the likely candidates, but the question is what roster moves do they make to promote those two guys? They would either have to release two players, or put two players on IR, or some combination. But who? Apparently, none of the injuries are serious enough to want to use IR, but you can't cut any of the injured players, so what do you do?
Im not sure who they have that they could cut and not expose to signing elsewhere so they may roll with 44 *DONT_KNOW* Football really needs to adapt a different system. For one get rid of the 46 player active 7 inactive bs and just go 53 active. Secondly they need a system more like baseball when it comes to injuries. If they are all concerned with player safety like they say they are make it easier for teams to juggle injured players in order to have a complete roster.
Here We Go Steelers! Since I'm going I suppose I could dress.. Just gotta be back for garbage duty n'at
Crikey! I really thought Golson would have an impact this season. I think I heard Colbert say "we'll get to keep him on the cheap"
Well, it looks like Ryan Harris and Golson go to IR. Harris is a surprise. DB Shabazz and the OT Feiler were signed.
So prior to this week, it looked like Bud Dupree was going to be the designated to return player. Now with Golson and Harris going on IR, will Dupree still be the designated to return player?
Everyone say..........you were right BlackNGold back in July when you said Golson would have zero impact this season and even IF he was able to get on the field at any point late in the season, would be severely imparied and at best less than 100%. 2nd round pick..........2 years.........zero contribution, let alone meaningful one or impact. I love how they're just put on IR with no explanation. Anyone have any idea of the nature of the injury or setback (Golson) suffered that makes the team decide with TWELVE WEEKS LEFT that neither Golson or Harris can get back on the field during this season at any point? Sheesh. *WALL*
Maybe the sheer number of injuries that would've left the team with only 44 players able to fill 46 spots had something to do with it? Golson was still 3-4 weeks away from contributing, but after the Gilbert injury they needed the roster spot. No setback, just don't have the luxury of holding the spot anymore. I thought Wallace would go to IR in place of Harris but I guess his injury was more severe. What explanation is needed? Seems pretty clear. Needed 2 players to dress, they picked Golson, who as you said hasn't seen any game time, and Harris who's injury must be severe enough that he won't be back for awhile so they brought up two guys from the PS. None of these moves were that surprising.
We're TWELVE WEEKS from the end of the season. I think we can do a week if necessary with only 44 players dressed if one or more are likely to return next week (Nix/Wallace/Gilbert/Gilbert/Rogers/Shazier/Golden, etc) you're telling me you don't roll with 44 instead of 46 and hope to get a few key guys back next week? For someone to be placed on I/R and gone for the season, they should have a severe injury, or one that can't be rehabbed within a month or two. And if that is the case.........fine. Say so........explain why. But if they truly did what you're insinuating, if they put two starting caliber guys on I/R just so they could dress 46 players this week instead of 44............that's nuts.
No, I don't go into a game with only 6 healthy linemen and 5 healthy DBs. Golson is still 3-4 weeks from being able to practice, and I imagine it's difficult to condition with a foot injury. As for Harris, I haven't looked up what a hematoma is, but it's labeled as a shin injury. In any case he's a backup, Gilbert should be back within the next week or 2. Not looking forward to seeing Hubbard out there but hopefully it's just today. Maybe the bumblebee luck will rub off on him. Also Tomlin said from the beginning that'd they'd hold the roster spot as long as they could afford the luxury...they no longer can so to IR he goes. Justin Gilbert's injury must be less severe
Unless he has a setback yes he will be the one. Dupree is going to be eligible before them (they {Harris and golson} will not be eligible until week 12). Dupree can start practicing after next week and can return after week 8 if he is ready.
