Tomlin confirmed MRI showed Ben aggravated an old foot injury. Doesn't anticipate it keeping him out of game.

Also confirmed: Green is still in concussion protocol (thanks you Bengal thug) and we are respecting the process. Not a good sign for him playing this week.

Toussaint is in concussion protocol after reporting symptoms possibly forcing a change at kick return duties. Ayers anyone?

Time will tell during practice this week regarding continued severity of Green's latest head injury and Ben's unnecessarily re-injured foot.

Info from Ben's prior foot fracture and surgery in ESPN link below from June 2011 archive. Ben says in the article he hoped to avoid surgery but ended up needing it according to the second link (an exhaustive summary of all his prior injuries). The foot was actually fractured in 2010 (also 2nd link below) and required offseason surgery (he missed two games that year because of the injury). If this is a refractured foot we are in big trouble potentially. Ben played like crap with the protective shoe worn during the season of the foot injury in 2010 and had surgery some time in 2011 eventually and was fine after that (until now of course).

Hopefully Green can go...I don't have a lot of faith that he's going to last very long once he clears concussion protocol.

I'm with you Tech on Ayers...just posted on the GBU thread questioning why Toussaint is used as a return man!?!? His decision making is terrible along with just flat sucking as a return man.

Toussaint is in the concussion protocol. We may see Ayers returning kicks this week....or maybe Gilbert. They used Gilbert in coverage against Kelce in the first game, but I anticipate seeing more of Davis in that role.

    DNP - Chick, Green, Mathews
    Limited - Dupree, Toussaint

Not a bad injury report for mid-January. Obviously, Green's not playing again. Maybe he and Ben will get their first look at the Pats next week.

Toussaint will probably make it back to be the "off" kick returner

Well, when his ankle was healed he said he wasn't ready mentally.
    Now he's got a concussion?
He's going to go play with all the money he got in his signing bonus.

OJ, Howard TE Alabama is looking like a better pick to me.
    Somewhere in the draft anyway.

Beloved Dupree was limited in practice today because of a shin injury. No word on the severity.

    Williams is back.

Big Ben full participant in practice.

Gilbert may return kicks with Toussaint (concussion) banged up and limited in practice and in concussion protocol.

Sean Davis and Tuitt full participants. Golden is back but not sure I want him back there much.

Green sat out practice completely and is a safe bet to be a scratch. Such a shame. I hate the Bengals.

    Chickillo and Mathews were out.

Golden is a key special teams player...you want him back healthy.

Concussions are so frustrating. I'm glad Sid finally made it back...took like 8 months I think.

"Removed from the Steelers final injury report on Friday after practicing fully were linebacker Vince Williams (shoulder), safety Sean Davis (shoulder), safety Robert Golden (ankle), defensive end Stephon Tuitt (ankle), linebacker Bud Dupree (shin) and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (foot). Golden is looking to return after missing the Steelers last two games with an ankle injury."

Green listed as doubtful but obviously he won't play / didn't practice today.

Nice to believe Big Ben and Dupree are 100%!

One superstitious thing I need to get off my chest as I think getting the negative energy out will make room for the positive energy: think of this as a techheart reverse jinx: With Toussaint out , Gilbert will be returning kicks - I FEAR HE WILL FUMBLE AND LOSE THE GAME FOR US. Whew, since I put that out there it cannot happen now and he will instead return one for a touchdown and win us the game!

  11. Yeah the patriots maybe? I don't see the steelers or chiefs getting any advantages from the changed kickoff time. I do however feel the steelers have an advantage playing in cold weather. Bens record is real good in cold conditions.

I'll help you out Tech - do you think KC will be able to win when they play in Foxborough? I think the Chiefs' pass rushers will be able to put pressure on Tom Brady, something the Steelers are NEVER, EVER ABLE TO DO!!!

Ahhh clever man, that's a double reverse jinx ensuring our being in Foxborough as well as our sacking Tommy Terrific all game when we get there ! Very well done !!

Good news, Green practiced on a limited basis today

Ladarius Green and James Harrison (shoulder, triceps) did not practice today. Green listed as concussion and illness. Harrison practiced wed

Green had a couple nice games for the Steelers. Sucks that he's still suffering from concussion symptoms. If I remember correct he's being paid about 5 million per season. When the seasons over I'd say Green needs to think about his long term health and the Steelers need to make better use of that 5 million.

I read on ask Alex , a segment over at steelersdepot , a guy saying there was a flu being reported on NFL Network going thru our Steelers team right now....the guy responding was joking about a biological agent sent upon us by evil genius bill belichick .... this is very bad timing for the flu to hit .... it was pointed out that when the raiders lost to denver and looked lethargic that their coach pointed out they were all sick so it very much affects things !!

I am wondering if Green is one of the ones who got the flu if so

Bell practiced today. Evidently, his wife is expecting a baby. Congrats to him!

Green also practiced and will travel to NE, but it doesn't sound like he took any 1st team reps. I'd be very surprised to see him play, but maybe it's a sneak attack
