In What Ways is this Team Better?

Nice video, actually very entertaining. But I was thinking Bullfrog Blues by Canned Heat when I posted that. I don’t know how to plug videos from my iPhone so sorry about that.

If it seems like I’m following you it’s probably just the fact there aren’t many people on here on this beautiful summer day.

The middle of this offensive line is going to be great but we still need better talent at tackle. I know we just had the draft but that has to be the focus in the next one. That or signing a couple big names. Trubs would improve fast if he had protection on the outside like he's going to have on the inside.

 

Tackle is definitely lacking. I can't stand Massie and don't trust Leno.

Outside of health if there is something that can stunt the offense from growing it'll be the play the bookends on the offensive line.

 

First and foremost, good stuff from everyone, as always.

My optimism regarding the tackle position comes from our new (old) offensive line coach, Harry Hiestand. After leaving Chicago, where he was in the mid-late 2000's, he's spent the last 5 years in Notre Dame, where they've churned out one coveted offensive line player after another - each being noted for their incredible technical acumen.

I'm hoping that we'll see one of two outcomes: he turns our tackles into serviceable, capable OT's. Or, he can't get them there, and the team realizes once and for all that they need to commit to real change at the position.

In my mind, either way we're going to get improvement. Hopefully it's the former, as that would be ideal. We'll see.
