Greatest Fictional Athlete in a Sports Movie ?

Ooh...the Triple Lindy...I might just have to re-think my stance...

 

Also....I assume that Neon Boudeaux eventually went on to have a stellar NBA career.

 

The triple Lindy did win them the meet. Depends if Catfish goes and disqualifies him like Charles Jefferson for only a 1 game/meet performance.

im looking for the greatest athlete. one game doesn't really amount to the greatest. that's why a lot of these one offs don't count. if you added them, who would vote for them over much more seasonal fake athletes?

 

yeah and somehow a 65 yr old man could do it ?

 

the thread is greatest athlete from a SPORTS MOVIE. Fast Times and Back to School aren't sports movies.

 

that was my fantasy baseball team nickname for years. one of my favorites.

 

But....but...he did perform the Triple Lindy while working at the New Jersey pier. He came on after the diving horse. And besides, that dive nearly killed him. Remember also that he did this after a very comprehensive day of oral exams with the threat of being expelled by Dean Martin hanging over his head......and he had no practice or warm-up.


And he did get 10's from all three judges.

 

they don't show the judges after his dive. you don't know what they gave him.

and it's not a sports movie.

If the movie has to be believable....this conversation is no longer fun.

 

it has to be a sports movie. is Roy Hobbs really believable? No, but it's a great movie.
