  1. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Whatever. Okay . . . he ran a 4.60.

    I'm wrong. you're right.

    Happy?

    It had nothing to do with that so I don't know why you feel compelled to come at me about it.

    We were discussing what our cutoff point for 40 times were in regards to receivers. Moore had a 40 time that puts him very close to a couple of people's listed times.

    Whatever else you're getting out of what I posted is all you.

    You gonna jump on Quew next?

  7. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Nope. I've already conceded that Moore's time was 4.6.

    My point of bringing the other numbers is suggesting that winning with long speed isn't Moore's game. I haven't scouted too many WRs too heavily, but the numbers suggest he separates in another way from just pure long speed.

    Which goes right into the conversation that we were having earlier about 40 times.

    Yeah, its bang on. If a guy runs a 4.4, you know he will hit the minimum requirement of NFL speed. If a guy runs a 4.6, for me, I need to look at the other numbers and see where he is. If he's a 4.6 and he's got a great shuttle or 10 yard split, I know he's going to be fine on short routes, but probably not worth sending deep.

    TBH though, the combine measurements have been shown to have zero correlation to NFL success for WRs, so I just ignore them beyond them being being data points to add context the tape. If a guy spends his college career as a deep threat and runs a 4.4, 4.55 or 4.7 it will have a big impact on how I rank them, but if he's a slot guy and runs a 4.7 with good shuttle numbers, it's not an issue. That's kinda like Orlando Brown being unathletic - it's not his game.

    Anyway, I now only have 9 guys that I've got left on my board and about 100 picks until my final one. So... crap. Someone is getting picked because they have a good name.

    @Soffacet

    I'm going to ask the Buffalo holds off for a couple extra minutes before they make their pick. Our email system delayed in notifying the Bears that they were on the clock so I would like to give him an extra moment to get logged on.
