G.M.O. - 2018 NFL Draft

  1. Torgo M.V.P. Manager Falcons

On the 40 time thing... with the older guys (Rice), you didn't have as much focus on coaching the track skills specifically for the Combine and pro day workouts as you do now. I didn't fully buy into the significance of that stuff until I saw Mayock's analysis of Notre Dame safety Zeke Motta in 2013. The guy had no track skills whatsoever, ran horrible 40 times and slid to the late 7th when his game film clearly showed a much faster player.

My breakdown points for WRs now would be slightly below Tim's - at 4.6+ you need to be good at everything else, and at 4.7 you need to weigh 250 pounds and have great blocking skills because I'm declaring you a tight end.

The Tennessee Titans select: Dorance Armstrong Jr., EDGE, Kansas

I'm not the biggest fan of Armstrong, but that's mostly because people mock him to us in the 1st/2nd. I feel like in the 4th round he's the perfect developmental OLB to sit behind Orakpo and Morgan for a year.

I’m really happy with this move because I believe our new GM wants to put a perennial threat on the field while Luck is in his 20’s, and not try to get lucky in one season drafting role players.
I’ve been landing excellent values up until now, and building up through this and future drafts just seems like a solid move.

Also no player jumps out at me here. Lots of snipes between picks 82-96

  16. Chris Guest

Yeah, he was my top rated player remaining (based on my needs, so I've culled a bunch of folks), but I only have him as a mid-3rd, based mainly on how he never fucking stops running.

    On the 40 time thing...

So far in this mock (through 4.4 [104] ), only 9 WR's have been selected.
    • Their Average 40 time = 4.49
    • Fastest 40 time = 4.39 (Kirk)
    • Slowest 40time = 4.58 (Sutton)

    J'Mon Moore ran a 4.60.

The site I used for my base player rankings showed he ran a 4.54. You wanna quibble over 0.06 seconds?

You posted something relevant to the 40 dash conversation.

I posted what the player I drafted in this exercise for the Cardinals ran.

It's relative to what we were discussing earlier because of the exact time.
